House of Blues: nothing more than a trademarked name for a concert venue. Something else will fill the void. Two decades is a nice run, and I’m sure there’s a story out there I’ve never heard, but it’s not as if the joint is legendary for early concerts by Jimmy Hendrix, Motley Crue, Pearl Jam or Nickelback.

And good news for Larry Flynt. If his retail store is still raking in the cash, he’ll find a way to relocate it. If not, assuming he’s the property owner, cashing in on his property couldn’t come soon enough, given how his company’s flagship product — nudie mags — has suffered in the Internet age.

Electric you make some good points. But it still sort of sad to see places like this close down for more family tourist industry type locations. It’s like shutting down mom-and-pop diners and coffee houses for another Starbucks and Dominos Pizza.
