YOU’RE FIRED!
Bobby Blotzer axes Scott Griffin from Ratt, bringing in former member Robbie Crane

Facebook — As we first reported last week here on Metal Sludge it’s now been confirmed that Scott Griffin is being let go from the band Ratt.

Griffin took to his personal facebook earlier today to break the news to his fans and friends.

The bassist wrote; “Just got off the phone with Bobby Blotzer. We decided that after the Canada and Ohio shows, its just not in the best interest of either of us to continue working together in RATT.”

Unfortunately for Griffin this was the second time in a little over a year that he has been let go from one of his higher profile gigs.

In September 2014 he lost his gig with L.A. Guns. Griffin had been with the Hollywood based band for 2 stints during 2007-2009 and again 2011-2014.

SG_Feb_28_2016_1aIn his posting Griffin also confirmed that former member Robbie Crane was being brought back as reported.

In a classy move Griffin added; “As of April 1st, Robbie Crane will be the new bass player for RATT.  I wish Bobby, Josh, Doc, Blaze and Robbie the best of luck.”

Griffin remains a force in his own band Cockstar as lead vocalist along with his slot in the newly titled Sin City Sinners All-Stars.

BraveWords has reported the Sinners have added Oz Fox (Stryper) on guitar and Jizzy Pearl (Quiet Riot) on vocals for up coming shows.

Robbie Crane will step into a familar role as he was a member of Ratt from 1997-2012.

Crane himself has now confirmed this news with a statetment on his official facebook page that in part reads; “I’ll be joining Bobby Blotzer and his band of Ratt’s, Doc, Blaze, and Josh… I’m looking forward to playing weekend fly out shows (for now) with Bob and the boys in the U.S..”

Originally Crane left Ratt with a 3 sentance press statement on March 25th 2012 that summed it up with the following; “After 15 years, I have made the decision to move on from Ratt.”

SG_BB_RC_Feb_28_2016_1aSoon after Crane joined up with Lynch Mob and in May of 2014 it was announced that he joined the U.K. based Black Star Riders.

Crane‘s first big break was playing with Vince Neil shortly after he was fired from Motley Crue.

He also supplied bass for Steven Adler in the Guns N’ Roses off-shoot Adler’s Appetite.

Ratt is currently touring with only 1 original member, Bobby Blotzer on the drums. The lineup also includes local Las Vegas cover band stars Joshua Alan (vocals), Blaze (lead guitar) and Doc Ellis (guitars).

Ironically the last time the majority of the classic Ratt lineup perfomred together Bobby Blotzer was not involved.

In early 2014 due to a neck injury Blotzer was replace by Jimmy DeGrasso (Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford) on a run of Southern California shows. DeGrasso joined core members Stephen Pearcy (lead vocals), Warren DeMartini (lead guitar), Juan Croucier (bass) and longtime comrade and ex-Quiet Riot guitarist Carlos Cavazo. See videos below.
