GREAT SLIGHT
Mark Kendall: “It’s nice to not have 1 guy with some kind of like, ya know a drinking problem”

Metal SludgeMark Kendall of Great White has done a brand new in-depth interview with the Music Mania Podcast.

Kendall who helped start the band in its earliest formation is the sole original member since he and Jack Russell officially parted-ways in 2009.

Since Russell and Kendall’s split, Great White have had several singers fill the void.

The late Jani Lane (Warrant) was the first to step in but only temporarily.

Then in 2011 Terry Ilous (XYZ) was hired as the band’s official new vocalist but the group let Ilous go in 2018, and hired Mitch Malloy.

In this new audio interview Kendall is talking about a new record, new tour dates, their newest singer (Malloy) and sobriety.

“We’re a sober band. I mean, by no means, are we, ya know these up-tight freaks, that you know. I mean we’re still pretty crazy. But, ya know it’s nice to not have 1 guy – with some kind of like – ya know a drinking problem. Or anything, that distracts us from what we do. And ya know, it’s nice to have a teammate if you will, that has good energy, a good moral and is fun to be around of course you know. You don’t wanna be in a band with guys you hate.” says Kendall giggling.

It’s unclear as to whom Kendall may have been referring to, when referencing “1 guy” with a “drinking problem.
