Schmidt was best known as Emi Canyn, one of the ‘Nasty Habits’ who were backup singers who toured with Motley Crue during their ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ tour.

Schmidt, was also previously married to Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars.

It appears Schmidt died back in February, but the information wasn’t known or public until more recently. The full obituary is posted below.

Schmidt also performed with her own project in the mid 90’s called She-Rok.

Schmidt was 62.

Emi Jo Schmidt “Emi Canyn Mars” died while at her residence in Lacey, Washington on February 25, 2017 at the young age of 62. Emi is survived by her siblings Barbara Reines (Johnny), Kenneth Schmidt (Monique), H. Douglas Schmidt (Janet), Rob Schmidt (Dee), Jeri Ovechka (Ron), and Jon Schmidt (Dawn). She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Eleanor Schmidt, and her sister Joan McMahan. Emi was born on December 5, 1954 in Tacoma, Washington to Floyd and Eleanor Schmidt. She graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1973. Emi had a love of animals. She had many four-footed friends throughout her life, most recently two puppies, Kujo and Gizmo. Emi was an accomplished performer, singer, and song writer. After moving to California in the late 1970’s, Emi continued pursuing her passion. She sang lead vocals in several bands including Canon, She Roc, and Alice N Thunderland. Emi also toured with Motley Crue, singing backup vocals. Emi loved her family, and was passionate about blessing others’ lives. Emi was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She will be remembered as a kind, talented, and loving daughter of God, who embraced the beauty of the world around her. A memorial is scheduled for April 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12407 Military Rd E, Puyallup WA 98374. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Emi’s life.
