Metal Sludge — In a brand new installment on JPearlTV the latest is all about “Being A Working Musician” according to the channel’s talking head.

Jizzy Pearl is that talking head, and much-like he’s been doing for just over 4 years since starting his Youtube channel, the multi-tasking singer has given some thought to a specific industry related subject and shared it.

Pearl, who is 66 years old has been around the block a time or ten, makes a lot of sense here.

His latest video clocks in just under 11 minutes, and King Jizzo as he’s known to some talks about musicians who are working, making money and his respect for all who do this kind of work for a living.

Pearl admits that over time, his view on things related to this industry have evolved over the years.

“My perception, of the music business has changed… quite a bit” says Pearl with sincerity as he hearkens back to more than 20 years ago when he may have viewed some others in a different light.

“I appreciate, things a bit more. I still wouldn’t want to be one of those guys (playing 3-4 sets of covers nightly) but I don’t sh!t on what they do. They have to pay rent, just like I do. They’re working… they’re working and they’re getting paid, to play music. It may not be what I wanna do, but it’s still playing music and getting paid. And that’s something.” added Pearl.

Pearl goes on to describe how there are levels to this business, whether it’s the guys in original bands, being a hired-gun in one of those bands, playing in a tribute or cover project.

Pearl who rose in the ranks on the Sunset Strip with his original band Love/Hate in the 1980’s, has also fronted Quiet Riot in recent years doing a pair of tenures (2013-2016, 2019-present) with the group.

Before taking over for the late Kevin DuBrow Pearl had also fronted Ratt, L.A. Guns, and an off-shoot Guns N’ Roses project (Suki Jones) with the band’s classic drummer Steven Adler.

Pearl has also been a part-timer in Raiding The Rock Vault in his current home-town of Las Vegas.

In the end, it’s safe to say that Jizzy Pearl has some credentials to his name spanning many years in rock n’ roll, and his take on “Being A Working Musician” is spot-on.
