Paulie is being moved to ICU 4. I’m coming back on the boat once it docks to pack our stuff. Looking very likely we will be flying to S Florida for further testing and treatment. His EKG looked good so far. He’s eating. All good news 🙏

The Bahamas — It’s great to report that Paul del Boccio is currently recovering from his medical emergency that happened last night on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise.

Ted Poley (of Danger Danger) was performing in the Manhattan Room on the Norwegian Joy cruise ship when del Boccio apparently had a heart-attack just as the band’s performance came to an end.

Fans and friends that were at the show stated that the incident became very concerning when the drummer collapsed after the band’s set, which resulted in a Alpha, Alpha, Alpha (emergency) call on the ship’s over-head P.A. system.

Some concerts goers reported seeing medical staff running towards the venue and upon their arrival found del Boccio receiving aid from bystanders.

One fan alleged the drummer coded, and that the EMT’s were using defibrillator paddles on him.

Reports are that del Boccio was in critical but stable condition after he was transported to the ship’s medical facilities.

Poley took to his official Facebook today (March 13th) writing: “I want to thank everybody for checking and for their well wishes! There is so much love being thrown around right now. Paulie is OK, he is getting the best care and he knows that you are all sending your most awesome thoughts and prayers!”

He is a trooper! Just a little bump on the road for Hollywood Delboccio!!”

Poley continued: “As soon as they let me in to see him last night, this is how the conversation went; “bro, did I finish the show?” – “finish the show? Man, you were legendary! You didn’t die until the final hit was over!”

“And then Paulie gave me the two thumbs up and shot me the biggest smile you’ve ever seen on anybody and just nodded his head like “yeah man”.. he was so proud! and I was proud of him!!” added the singer.

In closing Poley wrote: “He is safe. He is surrounded by people who care very much about him and I’m sure he is very happy to know that you are all so concerned about him! I thank you. I love you and I’ll keep you updated. It was an EPIC show right up until it wasn’t.”

The latest word is, del Boccio was kept overnight at Doctors Hospital Health System, Bahamas and medical staff kept an eye on the drummer after the scary incident.

A close friend of del Boccio‘s named Laura posted the following today: Paulie is being moved to ICU 4. I’m coming back on the boat once it docks to pack our stuff. Looking very likely we will be flying to S Florida for further testing and treatment. His EKG looked good so far. He’s eating. All good news 🙏

It also appears that del Boccio is no stranger to the hospital, after having to deal with a serious neck and spine injury back in the fall of 2022.

The drummer took to his Facebook: “Apparently it was worse than we thought once he got in and moved everything over! Gratefully my Surgeon is a drummer!”, wrote del Boccio to fans and friends with an accompanying photo of himself wearing a hospital issued neck-brace.

The last week in general has been somber for fans of 80’s rock after the tragedy that took place on The 80’s Cruise involving Faster Pussycat‘s Taime Downe‘s fiancée Kimberly Burch who appears to have taken her own life jumping off the couple’s private balcony.

Metal Sludge would like to send Paul del Boccio, along with his friends, family and band-mates strength to help get through these challenging times.

Metal Sludge would also like to continue to send strength to Taime Downe, his band and related associates, along with Kimberly Burch‘s family and friends.
