“Somethin’s comin, Somethin yall weren’t expecting! Somethin yall been asking for!!!“
— Marq Torien / BulletBoys
LOS ANGELES, California — What’s that old saying; “The fifth time is the charm“, or was it the third?
Either way… the rumor is, that BulletBoys will soon be announcing the return of original drummer Jimmy D’Anda.
If this is in fact true, it will be the 5th time for D’Anda who was there in the beginning, but has opted to leave and return from the Los Angeles based band on a handful of occasions over the years.
Marq Torien took to the band’s official Facebook on Saturday October 11th, and shared a message with their fans that reads as follows: “Mornin BulletBoys Fans ,Friends and Family!!! Somethin’s comin, Somethin yall weren’t expecting! Somethin yall been asking for!!! Stay Frosty, Stay RaD!! New, News coming very soon!!! Have a Rad Weekend everyone!! Crank some BULLETBOYS real Fn Loud today!!! Chrz!!! Mt.”
Metal Sludge was sourced in the recent week or two by an insider, that D’Anda would in fact be returning to BulletBoys in the near future.
While we cannot confirm this until the band or management makes an official statement… based on history and the band’s ability to ‘make up‘ after each and (almost) every ‘break up‘, it makes sense.
BulletBoys currently have 2 classic members in Marq Torien (vocals, guitars) and Lonnie Vencent (bass) along with Jake Faun on guitar since 2024 and Fred Aching on drums since 2022.
According to Wikipedia, BulletBoys‘ drummer Jimmy D’Anda has had 4 tenures in the band, and they are as follows (1987–1993, 1999–2000, 2011, 2019–2022).
D’Anda last performed with BulletBoys when the band had reunited with all 4 classic members, including guitarist Mick Sweda back in late 2019 which lasted just over 2 years, until early 2022.
Wikipedia states: “On December 12, 2019, BulletBoys announced that their original lineup would be reuniting. The reunion kicked off with a hometown gig on December 30, 2019, at the Whisky a Go Go. The reunion lasted until January 2022 when drummer Jimmy D’Anda and guitarist Mick Sweda left the band due to “toxicity” within the band.”
With that… if this is true… congrats to Jimmy, Marq and Lonnie for bringing the BulletBoys back to 3/4 strength!
