“We played the gig and Steven Tyler showed up. He called; “I’m down the street man, what are you guys doing, I’m coming up”. Sh!t blew up, the club was packed! It was just one of those feelings you get, when you’re in a room, and you’re like, ‘Holy Sh!t!’, (the) F#@king room was exploding.”

PALM SPRINGS, California — A new episode of Get On The Bus has dropped and their latest guest is rock n’ roll drummer Matt Sorum.

Sorum has had quite the career that includes stints with The Cult, Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and most recently working with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and British up n’ comer Yungblud.

Get On The Bus caught with up Sorum and he shared plenty from his early years, to his big breaks and what’s happened in recent years.

Sorum is very open on a lot of subjects including forming a super-group after the Guns N’ Roses run came to an end when he along with Slash and Duff McKagan decided to form a new project.

Sorum says: “Labels didn’t really give a sh!t if it was 3 guys from Gn’R. They didn’t give a F#@k! Who is the singer and where are the songs? And (Scott) Weiland came in and jump started the band.”

Velvet Revolver formed in 2002 and eventually released their debutContraband” in 2004, which resulted in the group receiving a Grammy for ‘Best Hard Rock Performance’ and sales of nearly 3 million copies after debuting #1 on the Billboard music chart.

Get On The Bus writes: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer Matt Sorum steps onto Get On The Bus for a raw, wide‑open conversation about his life behind the kit and the legendary bands that shaped his career.
