THE GRADE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND — Welcome to 5th grade!

Former Saigon Kick vocalist Matt Kramer has taken to his official Facebook tonight with a message to his friends.

The message is a simple one, that Kramer is putting them on notice that if they support his former band – Saigon Kick – then he will delete them.

Kramer was the classic voice of Saigon Kick in the late 80’s and early 90’s but somewhere along the way it went south, and he found himself sitting at home while the band moved forward by 1993.

Now, more than 30 years later, it seems Kramer is still very bitter towards his former band.

Kramer took to Facebook tonight and wrote the following: “Finding yourself off of my friend list? You must have been supporting my old band on their page. Sorry but my friends don’t support my old band. Have a nice time supporting them.”

Kramer has made remarks and lashed out towards his former band and various members over the years, and this appears to be more of the same with him apparently unhappy with the way things are in 2026.

Kramer just posted a few days ago on February 13th 2026 the following: “35 years ago, Saigon Kick released our self titled debut album. In my opinion, it’s the only Saigon kick record. Four nobody’s working crappy jobs busting it in rehearsals seven days a week. The second this was released two of the members became narcissistic maniacs. Egos the size of the Goodyear blimp. Not my scene or my idea of decent people. I celebrate the record though. Otherwise absolute waste of real magic.”

Metal Sludge also shared an update back in January 2024 with our article: “SLUDGE IS ON THE WAY … Saigon Kick’s Jason Bieler and Phil Varone exchange Facebook blows with former Frontman Matt Kramer”.

The 2024 article is full of a ton of “He said – He said“, and it’s worth a look… but here are a few choice quotes we pulled from that article.

First he stole all of my money, then he stole my job, and the fact that he sings exactly like me is the ultimate robbery and a perfect example of why being a thief and absolute backstabbing maniac makes you win in the music business.” — Matt Kramer on Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick

Regardless of any facts, accepts no responsibility for anything in their own life or career…” was Jason Beiler’s retort, that appears to be directed at Matt Kramer.

Phil Varone jumped in with: “I apologize to the great Saigon Kick fans for having to witness such nonsense.”

Now to be fair, it hasn’t been 30 years since Kramer was in Saigon Kick, as according to online history the singer has been in and out of the band on multiple occasions over the last near 4 decades.

The band’s Wikipedia notes that Kramer was in the band during 4 stints… the first run from 1988–1993, again in 1997, then in 2000 and the last run was for a solid decade from 2012–2023.

Saigon Kick was formed in Florida in 1988 with Kramer as lead vocalist, Jason Bieler (guitars), Tom DeFile (bass) and Phil Varone (drums).

The most recent lineup of the group featured the always amazing Jeff Scott Soto as lead vocalist, along with Bieler (who happens to be BFF’s with Soto), Varone and Steven Gibbs (bass).
