Metal Sludge — In the latest news from the world of Wolfie Van Halen, the multi-instrumentalist is doing what he does best.

No not play guitar or sing, but respond to trolls on the internet.

The youngest Van Halen has been in the spotlight for years, but in the last few weeks that spotlight got a bit brighter as he’s opening stadium shows for the mighty Guns N’ Roses.

Van Halen has tons of fans who support and adore him and similarly has those who have said he’s merely riding on his father’s coat-tails of greatness.

In a new tweet the only child of the late great Edward Van Halen replies with a graphic and questionable request of the troll.

Edward Jarrett writes to Wolfgang the following: “You come across like a immature little child with a bad attitude. Grow up. Never forget…. you went straight to touring with GnR because of your last name.”

Wolfgang didn’t hesitate and replied with: “Hey man, they can kick me off the tour anytime if it’s not working out. My last name may have opened the door but it doesn’t keep me here, and it certainly doesn’t write, record, sing or play the songs either. I’m the one doing that. So I kindly suggest you eat my entire ass.”

Van Halen then re shared the tweet and added: “I’m having too much fun today. Someone please come take my phone away from me.”

In several follow up comments and replies, there are fans on both sides of this argument.

Some stand out more than others, leaning hard in his favor and others joining Jarrett‘s point of view.

One fan offers advice to Wolfgang about how to handle the naysayers.

“Wolf, some good unsolicited advice, arguing with ‘people’ on social media is a time waster, takes you away from music, reflects poorly on your dad, your mom+ yourself. You give your power+esteem away. Time is so important when young before ill/injury show up. What would EVH do?” wrote @Grobwins.

Wolf responded to Grob with: “Wolf, some good unsolicited advice-“ which was accompanied by a .gif of a door being slammed into someone’s face.

Another fan tweeted: “Why do people constantly like to stir shit?”

Wolfgang replied: “Because they don’t like that I am related to someone they like.”

Yet another questioned Van Halen using canned vocals of Michael Anthony during tours in which Wolfgang played bass.

Wolfgang replied: “And I remember singing every fuckin’ VH show I’ve ever been a part of so it seems like we’re at an impasse here, Chucky. “

Mammoth WVH is currently on a U.S. stadium tour with Guns N’ Roses and on select off dates his band are doing club shows on their own.
