“He was getting so paranoid all of sudden he said like; “Well, I need protection, I need security guards with machine guns.”
“I traveled with the guy for like 5 weeks, until we just left him stranded in a hotel.”
“He was stealing from people, and ripping people off.”
— Alexx Michael of Shameless on former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent
Metal Sludge — In a new interview on the Full In Bloom Youtube channel Alexx Michael of Shameless lets it all hang out.
Michael is the bassist, song-writer and founder of the German rock band Shameless.
In the new interview Michael talks in-depth about his time working with former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent.
Michael was instrumental in sorting Kiss Konventions all over Europe in the 90’s and along the way had every member of Kiss as a guest, aside from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
During one of those Kiss Konvention runs in 1996, the special guest was Vinnie Vincent.
Michael details how he and those promoting the events, along with arranging the related travel, hotels and more, were challenged in dealing with Vincent and how it ended abruptly before the tour even ended.
“Vinnie (Vincent) in general, is like pretty much like the worst person I ever dealt with” says Michael.
“Like the way he was stealing from people, and ripping people off and stuff like that. It’s like, beyond anything you can even imagine. And like now when you listen to, like Mark Slaughter or any of those guys and they just tell the same thing.”
“I traveled with the guy for like 5 weeks, until we just left him stranded in a hotel.” added Michael.
Michael also references Vincent‘s arrest back in 2011 which was covered by TMZ when the guitarist was taken into custody after allegedly smacking his wife in the face and dragging her through broken glass.
Vincent, real name Vincent Cusano was at the time married to a woman named Diane, who according to the Police Report had fled the couple’s home, after a beating at the hand’s of Vincent, and arrived at the Police station covered in blood and reeking of alcohol said the report.
During the guitarist’s arrest at the couple’s home, the authorities found 4 dead dogs that were kept in plastic containers stored in the kitchen.
The couple told authorities that the dogs were killed by one of their other more aggressive dogs.
Michael continues with his experience working with the former Kiss guitarist: “That was the same woman (Diane) he was on tour with in ’96. And he was getting so paranoid all of sudden he said like; “Well, I need protections, I need security guards with machine guns and stuff like that.”
Michael details that Vincent had said: “What if some crazy Ace (Frehley) fan wants to kill me? I need security with machine guns, at least ‘4’ guys.”
“The most stand up moment was still like when his wig moved, because we were on the tour bus (laughing) and at one point he fell asleep, while sitting in his chair, and his wig started to move (more laughter). And it was just like so, and then he woke up, and then his wife looked at him, “Vinnie“, and of course she couldn’t say anything, ’cause there were another 15 people on the bus.”
“Vinnie, you got to check your wig”, she whispered into his ear, and then he ran down to the toilet to fix it.” added Michael.
The Shameless bassist then details how Vincent no longer wanted to ride on the bus with the rest of the group and asked for his own car and a driver.
