Here’s a little section I call Kalodner’s Korner. These are all bands on John Kalodner’s Portrait Records. Let’s see how the cock rock guru is doing.
Great White “Latest & Greatest” | 1,572 |
Great White “Can’t Get There From Here” | 63,229 |
Iron Maiden “Brave New World” | 90,822 |
Mars Electric “s/t” | 3,514 |
Neve “s/t” | 2,337 |
Ratt “s/t” | 47,158 |
Samantha 7 “s/t” | 2,143 |
Notes:
Ratt and Great White’s albums came out at the same time, and Great White outsold Ratt by about 16,000. New Portrait artist Neve debuts w/2,337 units …Maybe if the record would have come out last year when their
single was getting airplay, they would have had a bigger first week. The only album Kalodner got lucky on is Iron Maiden, who have sold more CDs in a few weeks than any other Portrait artist.
Black Label Society “Stronger Than Death” | 16,679 |
Bon Jovi “Crush” | 209,942 |
Kid Rock “History Of Rock” | 1,135,789 |
Motorhead “We Are Motorhead” | 5,898 |
Nashville Pussy “High As Hell” | 13,087 |
Poison “Power To The People” | 17,989 |
The Re-cap:
I’ve heard that some stores are offering a free Poison ticket w/purchase of the Samantha 7 record, but that
doesn’t seem to be working as sales drop from 317 to 261 this week. Let’s see, Poison tickets cost at
least $25 and the Samantha 7 record is probably $12.99…and people still aren’t buying the record!!
Iron Maiden sales drop from 11,092 to 8,956 and they are #157 on the Billboard charts. Poison’s new release drops from 5,011 to 3,589, but I believe they are also selling copies at their shows. Nikki’s side project 58 drops from 858 to 380 copies.

Poison/Cinderella/Dokken/Slaughter aka Power To The People Tour
VS.
RATT/Warrant/LA Guns aka Washed-Up Sunset Strip Has-Beens Tour
Each week I will pull the weekly scans of the most recent release from each artist participating in each of the above tours.

Plus, we’ll add in side projects and any participants former bands best selling releases.
Samantha 7 = 215

Weekly Side Project/Former Band Total = 305
Power To The People Total (4,169 + 305) = 4,474
II. Washed-Up Sunset Strip Has-Beens Tour:

Warrant “Greatest & Latest” = 85
L.A. Guns “Live” = 84

Weekly Side Projects/Former Bands Total = 192
Washed-Up Sunset Strip Has-Beens Tour Weekly Scans Total = 410
The Winner, The Power To The People Tour by 4,064 Units!!!
Interesting notes:
Slaughter scanned more units than RATT, Warrant, and LA Guns and they are OPENING on the Power To The
People Tour! Union scanned more units than RATT, Warrant, and LA Guns and they couldn’t get on either
of these tours! It’s easy to see why Phil Lewis went back to LA Guns; “More Purple Than Black” scanned 2
copies this week!!

Motley Crue’s “New Tattoo” Debuts at #41 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart w/37,390 units. FYI – The number above (38,072) includes 682 units sold prior to street date.
Great White’s “Deadline/Cleopatra Title Rip-Off” drops from 642 to 530 units this week. Motorhead’s “We Are Motorhead” drops from 271 to 258 units this week…Maybe Mikkey Dee needs to get arrested a few more times, look what it did for Eminem.

Bar 7 featuring Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch AND/OR Frank Hannon drops slightly from 219 to 207 units this week. Maybe we could find out if they sell more during a week Tommy’s in the band or during a week Frank’s in the band…ah, who cares?
Bon Jovi actually moves up on the Billboard chart from 35 to 33 as scans increase from 39,040 to 42,528
Nikki Sixx’s 58 is the big story as scans jumped from 304 to 686. Maybe they were giving them away with the new Motley Record.
