Melbourne, Florida —  Devoted to celebrating the music and lifestyle of the 1980s, the 80s in the Park outdoor music festival will be making it’s second annual appearance at Wickham Park Pavilion in Melbourne, Florida. This year’s event boasts a roster studded with veteran artists of the era predominantly focused towards hard rock and glam metal, with a few subtle nods to the AOR and pop culture, and now another choice addition has been announced for the three day festival.

Don Dokken, the namesake and lead vocalist for Dokken, will stand as a solo artist during his appearance in Melbourne later this month. Don has already established a comfortable career aside from Dokken; his debut studio album ‘Up From the Ashes’ surfaced in 1990, which featured notable appearances from former Deep Purple frontman Glenn Hughes, bassist Tony Franklin of Paul Rodgers and Whitesnake, and current Europe guitarist John Norum, amongst others.

While Don has continued to regularly tour and create new music with Dokken, which includes the band’s most recent ‘Broken Bones’ effort from 2012, the vocalist has gone on to independently release a follow-up to his debut solo outing. 2008’s ‘Solitary’ incorporated an occasionally visited venture into acoustic rock, and was largely made available to those fans who caught Don Dokken’s solo tour of the same year.

While familiar fans should expect a set list largely comprised of readily known selections from his Dokken catalog, hopefully we’ll see one or two rarities appear during Don Dokken’s performance at 80s in the Park, where he’ll be joined by such names as Enuff Z’Nuff, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, John Corabi, former Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy and Zebra. See below for the entire current artist roster, and for tickets and more information visit the official event website here.
