Fans question authenticity of RATT drummer’s Robbin Crosby guitar being sold on eBay, Bobby Blotzer’s reply: ‘They can suck a dick’

Earlier in the week Metal Sludge posted HERE about a guitar that Bobby Blotzer was selling on eBay. The RATT drummer was posing with a Jackson guitar that he claimed was from the group’s former guitarist Robbin Crosby.
The description on the eBay posting read as follows:
“1986-87 Jackson guitar, custom built and owned by Robin Crosby and used on Ratt world tour for the “Dancin undercover ” multi platinum record. In perfect condition. The two wear marks are from Robins Guitar strap and Belt buckle. This guitar was a given to Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer who also wrote many songs that landed on Ratt records. VERY RARE. Includes serial numbers of authenticity . Includes WHAMMY bar and Original case.”
Within an hour of our posting the auction was immediately ended.
Blotzer had listed the guitar on a friends eBay account. This was confirmed by the person who owns this particular account.
Blotzer had started the auction’s opening bid at $ 2,500.00 but when he pulled it down, the listing had no bites. The very next day, the same exact guitar, and identical photos were re-listed on eBay under a different account (detonator805) with a starting bid of $ 7,999.00.
With a quick search of eBay it turns out that detonator805 has also sold one of Bobby Blotzer’s drum sets. See screen capture below.
Many die hard RATT fans have become excited about the listing, but just as many have started to question as to whether or not it was in fact Crosby’s guitar. Hard core RATT followers have scoured the internet to find just one image of Crosby with the Jackson strat style guitar that Blotzer is seen holding in the eBay listings. However, it appears no one has been able to find one yet.
Some fans have claimed to have sent messages direct to the eBay accounts asking for photo or video proof.
Fans on select online forums including, RATT (Facebook’s MOST COMPLETE RATT and FAN Page are seriously questioning the authenticity of the axe. The online group has nearly 6,000 members world wide and a thread started by the fan page has well over 300 comments in a little over 72 hours. There is much debate about the guitar.
However, it seems the latest listing of that same guitar, which is alleged to have been owned by the late Robbin Crosby has also been removed from eBay.
Crosby who passed away in 2002 was well known to play Flying V’s or Firebird style body guitars throughout his entire career with RATT.
One fan has pointed out that a cropped photo used by Blotzer in the eBay listings, clearly shows a guitar being held by Crosby with a reverse hockey style neck. Yet the guitar that Blotzer is selling has a standard issue neck on it. See images below with arrows.
In addition, another fan has posted a picture of Crosby as he sits with his own private collection of guitars. The photo is from RATT bassist Juan Croucier’s official website and appears to show the late guitarist with nearly 30 guitars. However, the ivory white Jackson being sold by Blotzer does not appear in the collection. See screen caps below.
Metal Sludge has reached out to Bobby Blotzer for a comment in regards to RATT fans questioning the guitars authenticity. Below is his response.
