Metal Sludge Exclusive: Bret Michaels adds Eric Brittingham to solo band
Los Angeles, CA — Bret Michaels is bringing in some new blood to his solo band with an old friend.
Bassist Eric Brittingham is set to be the newest member of the Bret Michaels Band starting next Saturday.
Brittingham will make his official debut with Michaels at “Harrah’s Laughlin Hotel & Casino” in Laughlin, Nevada on April 30th 2016.
The band’s guitarist Pete Evick gave Metal Sludge the exclusive news earlier tonight.
Evick said; “Effective next Saturday, Eric Brittingham is the new BMB bass player. It’s a no brainer and Bret agreed.”
The guitarist who has held his six-string position with the Poison frontman for over a decade now added; “No auditions, no looking.”
Evick who is the musical director for the Bret Michaels Band was happy to report; “One rehearsal and it was awesome.”
Brittingham is a founding member of the multi-platinum Cinderella, but is no stranger to Michaels or Poison. The two first met 30 years ago when their baby band’s were touring in support of their debut records.
Brittingham also temporarily filled-in for Poison bassist Bobby Dall on Poison’s Summer 2009 tour with Def Leppard when Dall became sick on tour.
Cinderella like Poison, has been on hold for some time as Tom Keifer has been touring support of solo material. In March of this year Brittingham went on record with the Talk Toomey podcast saying; “I don’t think Tom (Keifer) is coming back (to Cinderella).”
Brittingham was also a founding member of Devil City Angels. In June 2015 Metal Sludge reported a rumor that Rudy Sarzo was being brought in to fill the bass shoes, 5 days later that rumor was confirmed.
Look for the Bret Michaels Band on tour throughout 2016 and be sure to give Eric a warm welcome.
