UPDATE: Thursday May 2nd 2024 (4:00PM EST)
The band have now shared a video on their social media showing Danny Nordahl in a sling explaining the situation and Johnny Martin of L.A. Guns also appears in the updated video. (watch video below)
The band have also posted the following message confirming our original Metal Sludge report.
“Danny broke his arm and thumb. Johnny Martin of @laguns is saving the day (and the tour). We love you @slim.tender and we very much love you @johnnymartinbass.”
— Faster Pussycat
Metal Sludge — Don’t change that song, but if you have to… I guess you can change the bass player.
And that is exactly what Faster Pussycat will be doing for their remaining tour dates after Danny Nordahl suffered a serious arm injury in Pittsburgh.
Sources close to the band have disclosed to Metal Sludge that Nordahl took a bad fall Wednesday night (April 30th) and wound up in need of medical assistance.
The fall was bad enough, that Nordahl is alleged to have broken his arm and will have to sit out the band’s foreseeable tour dates.
It is believed that Nordahl while exiting the band’s tour bus, fell down the bus stairs and injured his arm.
We cannot confirm nor deny that alcohol may have played a part or contributed to this unfortunate incident.
Faster Pussycat just started their U.S. tour a week ago, and have roughly 2 dozen shows left on their schedule which includes a stop at the M3 Music Festival this weekend.
A fan commented on a recent Faster Pussycat Facebook post writing: “Great show last night in Pittsburgh. How’s Tender’s arm??”
This is not the first time that Faster Pussycat have had to replace Nordahl either.
Readers may recall that back in March of 2014 Nordahl took a gnarly fall hitting his head off the band’s drum-riser while performing at “120 Tavern & Music Hall” in Marietta Georgia.
Nordahl was carried off stage by roadies and the band quickly enlisted Andy Nader of Red Light Saints who were the openers that night to fill the void. (see video below)
Metal Sludge has also learned that L.A. Guns bassist Johnny Martin will be filling in for Nordahl.
Ironically, Martin took to social media early this morning and posted what he referred to as a ‘cryptic‘ message that reads as follows: “Apparently I got a phone call late last night … Apparently I am now at LAX … Apparently I brought my bass. #cryptic”
The cryptic message is now coming to light after we’ve learned of the current situation in the Faster Pussycat camp.
Martin was at LAX as it appears he was boarding a flight to the East Coast to hook up with the Faster Pussycat band where according to their schedule, the tour commences on Thursday night May 2nd in Hopewell Virginia.
Faster Pussycat will continue their run of 30 dates taking them through the month of May. (See dates below)
