Bruce Kulick on Get On The Bus

LOS ANGELES, California — The latest edition of the GET ON THE BUS podcast and video channel features rock guitarist Bruce Kulick.

Kulick, 71, made his biggest mark in music as a member of the band KISS for a dozen years from 1984-1996.

But, before he was licking it up and starting the heavens on fire, the Brooklyn born axeman was part of the MEAT LOAF touring band in the late 70’s with his late brother Bob Kulick.

Kulick has also been part of many other projects over the years including; stints with Michael Bolton, the 90’s Super Group UNION with John Corabi and then becoming a member of Grand Funk Railroad from 2000-2023.

In the latest from GET ON THE BUS the guitarist spills some beans on details related to his time before joining KISS, and how it eventually evolved after his brother Bob continued to press Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons with comments like; “You know my brother plays great, you gotta check him out!”

Kulick also talks a bit about other members of the iconic group in passing, with mentions and stories related to the late Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Eric Singer and the late Mark Norton, pka Mark St. John who he eventually replaced.

Kulick also talks about the period in the mid 90’s when it became apparent that KISS were going to reunite, put the make-up back on, and how he felt about possibly becoming ‘The Space Man‘ when founding lead guitarist Ace Frehley was once again exiting the band.

In the end, it was Tommy Thayer who got the nod, and Kulick agrees he was the guy for that job.
