As some of you know I left my band Crashing Wayward a few months back for several reasons.. financial, personal, musical differences.

FACEBOOK — The former L.A. Guns guitarist Stacey Blades has went on record that he is actively looking for an established working gig.

Blades, 56, born Bryan Todd MaClachlan made his biggest impact while a member of L.A. Guns starting in 2004 up until he quit that group in December of 2012.

Soon after Blades left L.A. Guns he went onto launch an 80’s tribute called Let It Rawk which he formed in 2013 with Jaime St. James (Black N’ Blue), Oz Fox (Stryper), Sean McNaab (Great White, Dokken) and Brent Fitz (Union, Slash), but the band played limited shows before dissolving.

A few years later Blades showed up as a member of a new outfit called Angels In Vein that launched in the spring of 2016, but that too fizzled by early 2017 for the guitarist.

Blades was also one of the players that Bobby Blotzer used in his revolving versions of Ratt which originally started out as Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience before he took over the band’s official Ratt brand, which ultimately lead to him being sued by the 3 remaining living members of the (Ratt) band; Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini and Juan Croucier.

Now over the last decade the Canadian born guitarist has appeared in and out of various projects including Crashing Wayward which formed in 2020 during the pandemic, but according to Blades he also quit this band recently writing on social media; “I left my band Crashing Wayward a few months back for several reasons.. financial, personal, musical differences.”

Now it appears Blades is looking for some steady work with a known project.

Blades full Facebook post shared earlier this week reads: “Hello Friends Hope you are all doing well. Lots of big changes this year. As some of you know I left my band Crashing Wayward a few months back for several reasons.. financial, personal, musical differences. So for the first time in many years, I’m without a band lol. Lots of exciting things in the works though so stay tuned and actively looking for established working gig thank you all for your continued support. 🙂

Stacey Blades post from Facebook June 23rd 2025

Back in December of 2012 Blades took to social media announcing his departure from L.A. Guns which surprised some of the band’s hardcore followers as he had established himself with the group doing several tours, writing, recording and more.

When he opted to quit the group, Blades took to his official Facebook writing: “This isn’t an easy announcement, but as of this month, I will no longer be playing guitar for L.A. GUNS. I dearly wish Phil [Lewis, vocals], Scotty [Griffin, bass] and Steve [Riley, drums] much continued success. It’s been a crazy ten-year ride filled with some amazing tours, albums and memories to last a lifetime! Due to extenuating circumstances and musical differences, I have decided not to continue with the band. L.A. GUNS was a dream come true, but life is full of new beginnings and journeys. I will be taking some time off and have some different things lined up that I will share with you in the near future. I would like to first and foremost thank the fans for allowing me into your hearts! You guys rule!! Hope to see you all soon!”

Blades was involved with the following L.A. Guns releases according to Wikipedia; Studio albums: Rips the Covers Off (2004) Tales from the Strip (2005) Hollywood Forever (2012) Live releases: Loud & Dangerous: Live from Hollywood (2006) Live in Concert (2013) Other releases: Covered in Guns (2010).

Blades also authored a book, “Confessions Of A Replacement Rockstar”, which was published in 2009.
