HAND WRITTEN BACK IN 1996
“Paul is the absolute worst by far, KISS DO NOT DESERVE YOU!” writes Dee Snider to disgruntled KISS Army fan
Dee Vs: Kiss — In the ongoing saga of Dee Snider versus all things KISS, Metal Sludge brings you yet another chapter. And this one happens to be hand written.
The Twisted KISS feud definitely seems to be deep rooted and, based on some of what has been said over recent months, it appears it’s been going on for a while and by awhile we mean it’s really been pissing Dee off for decades.
Seriously, it’s been 20 years in the making.
According to this latest piece of the puzzle, in 1996, Dee spent Christmas Eve pen-paling with a “voluntarily discharged” KISS Army member about his dislike of Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter.
Metal Sludge sent the two decades old document in question to Dee and asked him to confirm if this is in fact his signature and letter. The Twisted Sister frontman replied, “Yup. This story just won’t die (I guess I need to shutup!)”
Now that we’ve confirmed what Dee Snider was doing while Santa Claus was delivering gifts (pre Y2K) for kids around the globe, let us bring you up to speed on how this unfolded.
Patrick from Minnesota, who was a longtime member of the KISS Army, was a lifelong die hard KISS fan and was crazy-excited in the mid-1990’s when the band announced an official reunion tour with all original members. Patrick, like most KISS-krazy fans, almost blew his Demon load when he found out he won tickets to their local concert and a meet n’ greet with the fab four.
Well, good thing he didn’t blow the load, because his fantasy to meet the band was yanked from the very hands that once held cash money that he parted with for kountless KISS Kollectibles.
“I will not spend one more dime on anymore of their junk,” said the former KISS Army fan after having his dream night voided by the band.
Patrick won a contest and was promised an opportunity of a lifetime to meet KISS and get free tickets to the concert, but as quickly as he won the promise was broken and ever since, well, let’s just say that Patrick is still not happy.
No meet n’ greet ever took place.
Instead he got tickets to a pro wrestling match.
Patrick admits he was an angry person with too much time on his hands and spent too much energy screaming and yelling about how he was wronged by KISS, but no one cared.
Or did they?
Someone did care.
And that someone was Dee Snider of Twisted Sister.
Out of all the letters, calls and we’re gonna assume ‘grown-man-crying’ for help someone finally cared. In fact, Dee cared so much that he spent Christmas Eve handwriting a letter to the discharged KISS Army fan.
Now two full decades later, Dee is still annoyed with KISS and so is Patrick.
Dee has recently called Paul Stanley “a dick” and Patrick has been emailing Metal Sludge almost as much as he was likely calling that damn radio station 19 summers ago.
What does all this mean? Not much, but we thought it would be great to share this story with anyone who cares as much as Dee or Patrick seem to.
Below we have screen captured the original documents, which were exclusively sent to Metal Sludge last month.

Here is the first e-mail we recieved from Patrick.
Here is the letter Patrick included with his priority mailed package. As you see below we’ve scanned the original letter from Dee and the actual return receipt from the United States Postal Service. We will give Patrick this, he’s a stickler for details.
Metal Sludge has transcribed the letter below for easier reading. We have posted the original both front and back along with the return receipt from the USPS which also appears to be signed by Dee.

Patrick, 12-24-1996
My heart goes out to you and your wife on this Kiss thing, I can imagine our disappointment. This just goes to prove what I have said all along.
“Kiss do NOT deserve the didication they receive from their fans!”
I have met them all (but am not “friends” with them) and have found they to be arrogant, condescending oafs, not to me mind you (they wouldn’t dare).
Paul is the absolute worse by far
Gene is a close second
Ace uses his “stoned” image as a cover
And Peter is one of the boys
There is Nothing I can do but express my sympathy
Kiss do Not Deserve you!
Sorry I couldn’t help
Once a SMF… always a SMF!
Dee Snider / 96
