Metal Sludge — In the always entertaining Great White saga, there is more to add to the drama.
Great White featuring classic era members Mark Kendall (guitars), Michael Lardie (keyboards) and Audie DesBrow (drums) recently played a live show in North Dakota last week.
The reaction has been harsh towards the band, and they seemed to “get it” after the fact and have since released a statement to Blabbermouth.
The statement read: “GREAT WHITE would like to address our Thursday, July 9, at First On First Dickinson Summer Nights concert in North Dakota.
“We understand that there are some people who are upset that we performed this show, during this trying time. We assure you that we worked with the Promoter. North Dakota’s government recommends masks be worn, however, we are not in a position to enforce the laws.
“We have had the luxury of hindsight and we would like to apologize to those who disagree with our decision to fulfill our contractual agreement.
“The Promoter and staff were nothing but professional and assured us of the safety precautions.
“Our intent was simply to perform our gig, outside, in a welcoming, small town.
“We value the health and safety of each and every one of our fans, as well as our American and global community.
“We are far from perfect.” wrote the band’s publicist.
With that said, Jack Russell of Jack Russell’s Great White has posted a brand new video of him wearing a mask. (watch below)
In the video Russell makes a statement about his former band, and goes onto talk about wearing masks and social distancing: “If you’re not doing that, you’re not doing your part. Take it to task and wear a mask.”
Russell himself, recently performed in multiple music videos outside of his boat, and also posed for photos — all of which he did not wear a mask for.
Metal Sludge feels it’s best to wear a mask as well.
We also find it best to follow the guidelines that have been put in place for all, all the time, and not just when it suits one’s best interest.
Be safe everyone.
