Metal Sludge — The 80’s Metal Recycle Bin have just dropped a never seen before interview from their archives with Steve Riley just 1 week after his untimely passing.
Riley died last week October 24th after suffering various health issues that landed him the hospital.
According to a family statement Riley had been battling a severe case of pneumonia for several weeks at the time of his death.
The longtime and classic era drummer for L.A. Guns did this interview the same day they played one of the annual Rainbow Bar & Grill parking lot parties some years back.
Riley speaks about his long history in music dating back to when he first relocated to Los Angeles in 1977.
Riley covers a lot of ground including his first big break touring with Steppenwolf (1979) and the next steps of early and mid 80’s success when recording the Gene Simmons (Kiss) produced Keel debut (1984).
Just as the Keel thing was happening Riley talks about the chance to join W.A.S.P. and how he had to jump at that opportunity.
Riley also talks at length about recording and touring with the various L.A. Guns lineups since joining the band in 1987.
