Metal Sludge — In a new interview from Metal Edge, Krokus bassist Chris von Rohr talks about the band’s near 50 year career and what it was like first coming to America.
Von Rohr recalls their first shows in the U.S. being with Sammy Hagar and says: “When we landed there and played our first shows, we thought it was all very cool, the weather was great, the girls were great, the whole thing was great.”
The bassist also talks about what he calls “Poseur bands” that had “No Voice” and adds the worst were Twisted Sister and Quiet Riot.
Oddly the name Krokus has gained more press in the U.S. in recent years due to Twisted Sister front-man Dee Snider talking about them opposed to the band being on the radio or on tour here.
The long-running feud is 40 years old and believe it or not, it’s over some stage clothes.
That’s right, Snider has been very vocal about what took place 4 decades earlier and google will give you all the gory details about a non-payment for and what Krokus thought about Snider‘s wife’s clothes that she designed for the Swiss group.
Snider took umbrage to a point where he said they came close to ending up at the bottom of a lake, as he told readers in his autobiography “Shut Up And Give Me The Mic.”
The feud has seen many twists and turns over the years with Krokus lead singer Marc Storace calling to bury the hatchet with Snider as recent as early 2022.
However, it seems the band’s bassist Von Rohr has opted to stoke the fire once again taking a fresh shot at Twisted Sister in his recent interview with Metal Edge.
Von Rohr also compares his band to The Rolling Stones, appearing to want to distance Krokus from the 80’s heavy metal pack that they are usually most affiliated with.
