“Some singers knock phones out of people’s hands. Others kindly take them and give them memorable footage from a perspective they will never have otherwise. Don’t be a schmuck See ya on the road.”
— Todd La Torre of Queensryche
““Philip Lewis there is a simple assault warrant in Davidson County… just waiting for your next appearance in Nashville – Metoroploitan Nashville Police Department – will execute the warrant.“
— Corissa Heindl, a fan of L.A. Guns who alleges an assault against singer Phil Lewis
Metal Sludge — Same singer, same band, similar situation but a different city and a different state.
Earlier this week Metal Sludge ran a story about a male fan who attended an L.A. Guns show and is claiming to have been assaulted, today’s story is about a female fan who is claiming the same.
Phil Lewis lead singer for L.A. Guns is in the news for all the wrong reasons this week, and it seems to be getting worse.
As you recall, Metal Sludge ran our story on March 19th titled; ‘L.A. KICKERS … Florida fan files Police Report against Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns for Battery, Alleges the Singer Kicked him and his Phone‘ about that Florida man who alleges Lewis assaulted him.
The man claims Lewis went after his phone and subsequently kicked him at a Ft. Lauderdale show performed by the band on March 7th 2024.
Now, a woman from Nashville Tennessee has come forward with her own less than friendly live show experience involving Lewis at an L.A. Guns show last summer.
Corissa Heindl has publicly claimed Lewis slapped her phone out of her hand last July 12th 2023 at an L.A. Guns show at “Basement East” in Nashville.
Not only has Heindl shared her opinion, but also a short video clip of Lewis appearing to be standing right in front of her singing, as she was in the front row of the band’s 2023 concert, when the singer winds-up and appears to slap or swing his arm towards her.
The incident was also reported to the local Police Department and a complaint (No. 20230416218) was filed on July 15th 2023 at 18:45 (6:45pm).
The report was taken by Officer J. Warren, from the East Patrol / 227B Precinct.
In addition to this report, Heindl herself has now shared a social media post from last year, soon after the alleged episode took place, and Lewis himself commented: “Oops my hand slipped Apologies.“
Heindl then replied to Lewis with: “Philip Lewis obviously. That was uncalled for. Truly. And you broke my phone. Apologies don’t pay for property damage.”
Heindl recently replied and updated to the same post with: “Philip Lewis there is a simple assault warrant in Davidson County… just waiting for your next appearance in Nashville – Metoroploitan Nashville Police Department (who are tagged in the post) and have them execute the warrant. It’s been too long now for you to have made this right. You didn’t succeed in having me tossed out of the Basement East, because you aren’t as known there as I am. And YOU WERE SO WRONG.”
We have reached out to Heindl who feels she has been wronged and wants damages for the phone that she says was broken during the incident.
We have obtained that Incident Report from the local P.D. from last July. (see screen captures)
The story about the original incident involving the Florida man is making its rounds as other name musicians have spoken out about how they might handle these situations.
Queensryche frontman Todd La Torre commented about what he might do if a fan films him up close.
La Torre took to social media writing: “Some singers knock phones out of people’s hands. Others kindly take them and give them memorable footage from a perspective they will never have otherwise. Don’t be a schmuck See ya on the road #Queensryche #The1TheOnly“
Many comments have been made about the initial incident reported by the male fan in Florida, and some fans are stating it doesn’t look like much, and how the performers deserve their space.
On the other hand, there are also those who feel it’s very unacceptable to do this to another person, especially when devices can cost upwards of $1,000.00 or more.
Others who have now seen Heindl‘s posts and comments, are also taking a different stance when it’s a woman and not a man.
With respect to equal rights, it’s never okay to swing at or hit anyone, or their property… but most would agree especially when it involves a woman.
L.A. Guns are about to finish up a short tour run with KK’s Priest.
