DVD REVIEWS — WARNING: If you can’t handle criticism about “Your Band” or its members, DO NOT READ ANY FARTHER because I’m about to piss ALOT of people off by being a honest CrüeHead of 33 years! Come take a ride on the ‘Wild Side’……

Mötley Crüe is dead! Hallelujah! Wait, what did I just say? Yep, I wrote it right & you are reading it correctly! “Hear” me out…

Mötley Crüe formed in 1981 and thanks to my much older siblings, in 1983 at the age of five, I became a CrüeHead! I’ll go to the crematory a CrüeHead where this Crüe tattoo that adorns half my left bicep will become ash so why am I elated the once almighty Crüe is finally dead?

Well, because for the past ten years, Sixx n’ Kovac  have continued to insult my intelligence, tried to steal my money and have all but erased 1992-2004 from the history of the band!

I gave their post-Vince album with John Corabi a fair shot and it remains my all-time favorite album of theirs. Wasn’t at all happy how they allowed Allen Kovac to fuck John Corabi over….a trend that continues to this day! Vince Neil’s solo output while out of the Crüe is the best material he’s ever sand.

I dug the majority, cue puking when “Brandon” starts, of their reunion album with Vince Neil, Generation Swine! Enjoyed Tommy Lee’s solo output while the late great Randy Castillo manned the drum throne, endured the drama of Nikki Sixx relapse and stuffing his married sausage into his fill-in drummers Hole! 58, a masterpiece in my mind. Brides Of Destruction was killer but instead of being loyal, Sixx and Kovac left them hanging for greedy purposes! I thought the reunion tour was one of the greatest live shows, EVER!

Simply put, they’ve been dead since the conclusion of the Carnival Of Sins tour but keep bleeding money from CrüeHeads worldwide and not giving us anything in return except re-hashed compilations, a Sixx:A.M. album mislabeled as a Mötley album & tours where the only live element was the real heart n’ soul of the band, Mick Fuckin’ Mars!

It was Mick I suspect that was completely sick of Nikki Sixx and Allen Kovac’s trend chasing greed, Tommy Lee’s ambivalence to his own legacy as one of the greatest drummers ever & Vince Neil’s one word out of four vocal approach! He voiced his displeasure over their TAPED live performances and in “The End” as 50% owner of the name, he put his boot down & slit the throat of the once vital, relevant and pioneering Mötley Crüe! Thank you, Mr. Mars!!!

On with the show or my intended review of a visual document of their last show as a band on 12/31/2015 in Los Angeles. “Mötley Crüe – The End” was released on November 4, 2016 and just like the tour is yet another pathetic cash grab by the genius masterminds of the band, Nikki Sixx & Allen Kovac.

I tried watching it but could BARELY get through my favorite Vince era tune “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)” before I went to the only truly live portion of the show, Mick’s rippin’ solo! The bonus features are cool but watching the “concert” is a complete fucking waste of time! Kind of like watching Titanic or Passion Of The Christ, you know what is going to happen and you damn sure know how it’s going to END! Good riddance to a once great band, thank you for 25 great years, sorry you wasted my time for the last 10 years but I at least get to look forward to the REAL heart n’ soul of Mötley Crüe, Mick Mars debut solo album! Not to mention it’ll include his collaboration with a real vocalist and lyricist, John Corabi!

However, the one thing that pissed me off more than the last ten years of Mötley Crüe’s existence is the inclusion of Gary Glitter’s “Rock N’ Roll Pt. II”! WOW! Way to push that non-conformist, middle finger to the masses spirit you got there Sixx by paying royalties to some disgusting pedophile who is in prison at the moment for unmentionable acts to children that you claim to be an advocate for! Or was all that another PR stunt drawn up by Allen Kovac and you?

Ponder this Nikki Sixx. How would you feel about something horrible happening to anyone in your family then another musician covers a tune by said ‘bad guy’ and that same bad guy is now being rewarded by getting a royalty check every month in prison.
