“I got into the real estate world right after Nitro and have been doing it ever since”
— Jim Gillette
MS NEWS / APRIL 3rd 2026 — He’s best known in the music world as the singer of Nitro but Jim Gillette is also known outside of music as well.
Gillette recently showed off his latest luxury property which is without a doubt as extreme as anything else the singer has been involved in.
Gillette went from singing with Nitro on MTV and touring the world to training with UFC Hall of Fame and international MMA legend Royce Gracie.
Gillette is without a doubt, an ‘all in‘ type of guy, and to outwork him you better be up earlier and be ready for a battle, because regardless of his interest, the former hair-extension farmer is no easy target if you’re on the other side of the playing field.
Gillette has an iron mentality which saw him leave home as a young man, and while still a teenager was already selling his Metal Power vocal lessons globally. Before long, he was recording his debut solo record all before forming Nitro as a 20 year old.
That same mind-set and work ethic evolved into Gillette competing in various MMA tournaments which saw him win multiple Jiu-Jit Su world titles in various weight classes, all the while supporting a family and raising 2 boys – mostly on his own.
It’s 2026 and Jim Gillette is still going like a freight-train but… not on stage or on the mat as much as his younger years.
Gillette now 58, has had his hands in real estate and development for more than 30 years now, and he’s done so from Arizona to Texas to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Now the former teenage vocal sensation has made Florida his home in recent years and he’s not laying around on the beach either.
‘Magic Manor: By Gillette‘ has been in the works for the better part of a calendar year says Gillette and soon… you and your family could be vacationing in this palatial palace on the Florida panhandle.
Metal Sludge caught up with Gillette and asked about his latest project.
“I got into real estate world right after Nitro and have been doing this ever since” says Gillette.
Gillette gave us a quick run-down of what ‘Magic Manor: By Gillette‘ is filled with and comprised of.
“I spent about 8 months on Magic Manor. It’s 6,000 square feet in the interior with another 3,000 if you include the covered deck, so… 9,000 in total. This is 3 stories, has 8 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and it sleeps 34. We have 2 inside kitchens and 1 outdoor kitchen. There are also 2 wet-bars, a sauna, hot tub, a gym and a swimming pool.
The property is 100 yards or a 2 minute walk from the beach located on Saint George Island on the Forgotten Coast of the Florida panhandle… we’re available to the public starting May 30th 2026.” added Gillette.
Gillette then stopped us mid-conversation and says; “I have to give a huge shout-out to my designer and decorator Tina D… I cannot express how much she has done here.”
These type of properties are perfect for the landmark birthday with a group, the big family reunions, weddings and corporate events to celebrate a banner year with your cream of the crop employees.
Gillette tells us the area is well known for amazing fishing and oyster harvesting making sure to add there are 2 other luxury properties in the works which he calls ‘Castle Bay: By Gillette‘ and ‘Blazewater: By Gillette‘.
Metal Sludge then asked how he transitioned from singing to working in this world.
Gillette tells us the following: “Someone told me that Wiki said I had a small construction company in the Turks and Caicos Islands. First off, it wasn’t a small construction company… I was a developer. My company bought and sold $250M of land.
We also built the first bridge in the country and employed over 150 local men. We were the largest employer on North Caicos, made canals, owned and built a marina with a boat capacity of 500 (35’ boats), developed the 4 most successful sub-divisions on the island, created just shy of 400 residential lots and numerous commercial lots. We then put in miles of paved roads, sidewalks, underground utilities, street lights, fire hydrants, etc.”
So I’m not sure what one has to do to be considered more than “a small company” but I was pretty proud of what my partner and I accomplished down there. We also survived the crash. Sadly we were one of the only developers in the country that didn’t go belly up. I love creating ultra high end waterfront homes and have no plans to stop anytime soon.”

Gillette had previously been featured in ‘The A-List of Travel’ Luxury Travel Magazine with a story highlighting some of his accomplishments in the Turks and Caicos Islands starting around the year 2000 after his first visited.
‘From Rock Star to Yacht Club Developer: Jim Gillette and The North Caicos Yacht Club’ ran back in July of 2012 and shares some of the singer’s history in development and noted at the time Gillette was the largest land owner on North Caicos.
Gillette and his partners had invested over $30,000,000.00 of their own money into project infrastructure over time to help expand and enrich the community as a whole.
