“It’s amazing to me how things have changed for the worse over the years.”
— Ted Poley on flying
FACEBOOK — Danger Danger frontman Ted Poley is not happy and has unloaded a long detailed rant on Facebook late last week where he blasts the airline and travel industry.
Poley, 63, is not one to mince words – not even when he should – at least history along the way has shown that… but of course most of us at one time or another have vented on social media as well.
The New Jersey native is in the twilight of his 40+ year career, and time has taken its toll on the “Naughty Naughty” frontman, or so it seems by some of his posts.
The same can be said for most entertainers, athletes and the rest of our aging generation as we travel, live out of a suitcase and traverse the road in front of us.
Living as a working (touring) musician often will throw you curve-balls, but… you need to handle it… we need to adjust to it, and make decisions on the fly and turn on a dime when it’s necessary.
In other words, if you’re going to do this Rock Star thing… it’s part of the process and the journey will at some point include; delays, flight changes, lost baggage, along with rental cars and hotel check-ins being more of the same.
Not to mention finding a truck-stop toilet that you are willing to sit down on before getting back in the van to drive another 5 hours.
However, the rest of the planet are not immune to these same obstacles either.
Everyday people, business-men, athletes and other entertainers will also face these scenarios and you have to handle it accordingly – unless you want to be a Karen – well, then we’ll see you on TMZ.
Anywho… Poley in short says he cutting back on fly-dates, and basically says the airlines have made it into a miserable experience.
We have shared the singer’s post which details his frustrations below.
Ted Poley Facebook – August 16th 2025
I’m gonna be cutting back on fly dates as much as possible..
.. definitely no more layovers direct flights only and only when necessary.
Everything has changed flying as miserable. I’d rather drive my bus.
it’s amazing to me how things have changed for the worse over the years.
Flying used to be a service industry they wanted to make a good experience and they cared about the customers and now it is just ” sit down shut the fuck up we will treat you like we are human trafficking you we will make you uncomfortable, Hot and late.
We don’t care and we won’t do anything about it, you can complain and if it was really, really terrible we MIGHT give you a voucher/credit, but not cash! no refunds, and it will be for practically nothing compared to the price that you paid for the flight ticket. maybe $50 which is useless and wasn’t worth the time to complain.
And of course, we know that there is not enough overhead space to allow everyone the same amount of carry-on baggage so we expect you to fight it out and then gate check your stuff, so that you can have anxiety even before the flight worrying about your carry-on.”
Worst part is, I have been late to several shows this year because of the airline and I fear missing because of their inefficiency and ridiculousness.
Also, I’m afraid to bring any equipment because they break Guitars they lose Guitars..
… you get it.

PS,, “we are so sorry we lost your luggage, but of course that’s your fault for checking a bag , however, if we remember, we will notify you if we figure out where we left it, but for now here’s $15 to cover all of your possessions in case we forget about you immediately just soon as you hang up”
This recent rant from Poley is one of several from the singer just in recent months, all related to travel, and more specifically, flying.
Back in late June Poley went on a rant about a screaming baby and a flight from hell.
Metal Sludge covered that story in our article: “‘FLIGHTMARE … Ted Poley unloads on Aer Lingus Airlines as “Worst airline yet”, adding “Ended up in economy with a screaming baby”’
One must wonder, has Michael Sweet of Stryper seen these?
Or… was it Poley‘s rants that Sweet may have been referencing when he posted his Anti Complaint rant?
After all, it was Sweet who very recently blogged about musicians who complain about their job.
Metal Sludge covered that in our article; ‘IRONIC … Michael Sweet of Stryper says he wants musicians to quit complaining: “No one around you wants to hear it. It’s a joy robber, a life sucker and an absolute downer.”’
While Sweet does plenty of complaining himself, we agree with the singer.
Nobody wants to listen to Debbie Downer every time they open their mouth, but there is always one.
At the end of the day… the guy next-door, the lady at the counter, the person driving slow in front of you, or the server who brought your food… they do not decide if you will be happy or not… YOU do.
It’s your choice…
All of us can be better… do better, and we can all lose some of the negative energy and focus more on the positive in today’s world.
We get it Ted, you are cutting back on fly-dates… all good… save the bullsh!t complaints (human trafficking?) and woe is me crying…
Like Sweet said, “No one around you wants to hear it.“
Playing the victim is weak… and it’s not a good trait and not a good look… nobody is out to get you.
However, if you choose to be miserable, don’t blame others and always remember… check the mirror.
