Metal Sludge — What was that song by Eddie Murphy called, “Party All The Time?”… well that should be in the set for Poison frontman Bret Michaels.
Michaels, 59, who is the consummate rock n’ roll party host has just announced that he is heading out in the summer of 2023 on his first ever ‘Parti-Gras’ solo tour with Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship.
Michaels is without a doubt one of the premiere acts for the 80’s genre, and has an infectious ‘good time‘ vibe whether he is on stage, at a meet n’ greet, on the radio or updating fans via social media.
Having a good time is part of the singer’s history, with a string of hit songs from the Poison catalog that is highlighted by one of the decade’s biggest anthems, “Nothin’ But A Good Time.”
Blabbermouth writes in part: “During an appearance earlier today (Monday, November 28) on SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, POISON singer Bret Michaels revealed that embark on his “Parti-Gras” solo tour next summer with support from NIGHT RANGER and JEFFERSON STARSHIP. The Live Nation-produced trek, which will kick off on July 13 in Detroit, Michigan, will consist of 12 dates in amphitheaters, including stops in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.”
Michaels just finished a full summer of dates on The Stadium Tour with Poison supporting Def Leppard and Motley Crue, in addition to sporadic solo shows throughout 2022.
Now the Pennsylvania native is ready to tackle 2023 with no break and no end in sight to add more live shows.
“As for the possibility of extending the tour beyond just 12 shows, Bret said: “I would love to add more. So what happens is there’s a lot of independent promoters in there that I wanna respect. It just won’t be exactly this version. So in different cities, I custom created it for those cities and those shows and it’s gonna be unbelievable. I’ve got some country artists on one. I’ve had some big country artists out with us that all of a sudden come out and we’re doing one of their songs. They’re doing ‘Nothin But A Good Time’ or ‘Unbroken’ or a solo song, but no matter what… Knowing me, you know what I mean. I wanna be the quintessential host. I want people to feel welcomed.” – Blabbermouth
