Poison drummer Rikki Rockett reveals he’s been battling throat cancer
News Flash – Rikki Rockett of the band Poison has just announced on Eddie Trunk Live that he’s been battling throat cancer for the last 6 months.

Rockett a founding member of Poison in recent years has stepped outside the Poison group with a side-project Devil City Angels. The band features founding L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, Rudy Sarzo (Ex. Quiet Riot, Ex Whitesnake) bassist and frontman Brandon Gibbs. The group released their self produced debut earlier this year via Century Media.
Rockett has been vocal about wanting to tour with Poison in recent years. The full band hasn’t done a summer tour since 2012 when they supported Def Leppard. Michaels on the other hand is active with upwards of 200 dates per year with his solo project Bret Michaels Band.
Michaels did recently talk about the band celebrating 30 years and hoping they will hit the road in 2016.
Poison released their debut “Look What The Cat Dragged In” in 1986 and the singer mentioned wanting to do anywhere from 10-30 special events next year to celebrate the landmark year.
