*** The Waste Some Time with Jason Green Show has reported, just who might be in Blotzer’s new band!
Metal Sludge — Well the cat just might be out of the bag… or, should we say the rat might be out of the bag?
That would make sense here… but be it a cat or a rat here is what we know.
According to the Waste Some Time with Jason Green show it seems Green has a scoop on the latest in the world of Bobby Blotzer and his new band.
As most know Blotzer announced last week that he was returning with a new project… aptly titled Bobby Blotzer’s Rat Attack.
Metal Sludge was one of the first to report about the Rat Attack band but as of press time last week, the million dollar question was… who are playing the guitars, bass and singing for the Rat Attack.
Well thanks to this latest Live Podcast with Jason Green there seems to be a hint as to who’s who.
Green is reporting that Gabriel Colon is rumored to be in the running as the singer in Rat Attack.
We did some quick digging and it appears Colon currently sings for Lynch Mob.
Now with this new news he might be a Rat as well, or if he goes solo, who knows… maybe he will call his next project Rat Mob.
Green also reports that the bassist rumored to be is one of the Duncan brothers… and there are a bunch of them.
It seems music was clearly a family-affair over at the Duncan house… and for those keeping score at home… Jeff plays guitar for Armored Saint (since 1989), Shawn plays drums for L.A. Guns (since 2022) and the 3rd Duncan brother Matt is apparently on a short-list to play bass in the Rat Attack.
Just to note, the Duncan brothers Jeff and Shawn were also in the Los Angeles based ODIN who famously appeared in Decline of Western Civilization – Part 2 The Metal Years.
Moving onto guitars, well the word is there will be the traditional Ratt styled twin axe attack in the Rat Attack.
First up is Dougie ‘Licks’ Manross from Cleveland Ohio.
Manross has been doing shows with Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (ex-Judas Priest) in recent years, and recently did a few short runs with Tuff this past summer.
The second guitarist is a teenager from Long Island New York named Mickey Lyxx who plays in a band called Holy Mother.
Lyxx is just 19 years old and Manross is 24, and while these guys are young, they clearly are ready to fill the void where some of these older guys cannot.
You may be asking, how many licks can Licks and Lyxx play… well according to their various social media accounts… it appears to be a lot… and yes these guys can shred for sure. (see videos below)
There has also been word on the street that Blotzer had reached out to some of his former band-mates and buddies from the past, including Robbie Crane, Keri Kelli and Billy Morris too.
However it seems that all of these guys passed on the Rat Attack for one reason or another.
We grabbed several comments from social media when the big announcement was made and shared them above… and it looks like there is some excitement for da’ Blotz.
Of course none of this has been confirmed, nor denied by the Blotzer camp just yet… but like that old saying goes; “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire“, and with that we have a feeling some of these pieces just might fall into place.
It’s also a safe bet that Blotzer just might find himself getting packaged with some of the ARM Entertainment acts who according to Blotzer‘s ad-mat for Rat Attack, the ARM agency appears to be the band’s representation.
ARM have various 80’s acts on their roster including; Dokken, Warrant, Winger, Lita Ford, FireHouse, Lynch Mob and Last In Line to name a few.
