Metal Sludge — In a new interview on The Bay Ragni Show Chip Z’Nuff discusses former frontman Donnie Vie’s recent rant about his former band Enuff Z’Nuff.

Vie recently referred to Enuff Z’Nuff as a “Turd in a Snickers wrapper” and said Chip Z’Nuff sounds like he’s gargling thumb-tacks when he sings.

Z’Nuff did not flinch and answered straight away when Ragni said he had just interviewed Vie the week before, and Z’Nuff added a potpourri of answers and explanations about their situation that included the following:

* He (Vie) said he’s not interested in going out and doing it like we do it right now. With 5 guys in a van…with all the equipment… we’re doing everything ourselves, down n’ dirty like we’re 20 years old.

* It’s not like we have a half-million dollar tour bus, (and) there’s a road manager and (full) road crew, (no) we’re doing it all ourselves.

* Pull up to the gig after driving, for 7-8 hours, go and play the show… tons of bars… and it’s all the elements that have hurt him (Vie) all these years, I don’t think it’s a good idea, to just go out there, throw him to the wolves.

* It would be selfish of me to throw him (Vie) in the mix, on something like that right now, when he’s not ready to do it, financially, and also his, ahh, health-wise. It would be a tough pill to swallow, no pun intended.

* We never said, “We don’t want you back in”, we said “If we’re going to do something, like Japan or something significant, that would be great.”

* He’s always slung mud, whether he lived in a glass house or not… and he’s going to continue to do that, and I am not going to go down that road and stuff, I am grateful for what we had.

* The reason we even have records out, and we’re talked about, is because I kept it together, and kept working my ass off, and because of the good Lord above. No other reason.

* I really believe that, not only have I kept the ship going, but I’ve taken it in a good direction right now, there’s no rigamarole…. there’s no more big problems at all, when it comes to doing press, getting up in the morning, working these shows, hanging out with the fans all night where guys can’t get up the next day or need something to prop them up.

* I am in this position now, because of him (Donnie Vie), he didn’t want to do it – Chip Z’Nuff on Donnie Vie
