HANOVER, Germany — Sad news today as we report that former SCORPIONS bassist Francis Buchholz has died.

Buchholz was in the group between 1973-1992 and appeared on numerous releases from the band during the peak of their fame.

Buchholz is the 4th former member of the band to pass away, including James Kottak (2024), Achim Kirchhoff (1977) and Helmut Eisenhut (1973).

SCORPIONS have posted a message on their official social media earlier today sharing the sad news.

“Dear Fans,
we have just received the very sad news that our longtime friend and bass player, Francis Buchholz, has passed away. His legacy with the band will live on forever, and we will always remember the many good times we have shared together.
Our hearts go out to Hella, his family, and friends.
R.I.P. Francis.
Klaus, Rudolf, Matthias”
