LOS ANGELES, California — Sad news as we report that rock photographer Glen La Ferman has died.

Condolences and tributes are starting to pour onto La Ferman‘s social media platforms.

There is a statement on La Ferman‘s official Facebook page that reads as follows: “Glen La Ferman has left the building. On Oct 20th Glen peacefully passed with loved ones and friends by his side.

Glen was proud to be the “Worlds most difficult person” but those that knew him also know he had a big heart. Glen was an iconic photographer and visionary and will greatly be missed by many. Please stay tuned for service and memorial announcements.

La Ferman had been battling health issues for a few years now, including a very serious cancer diagnosis.

La Ferman was in the top tier of rock n’ roll photographers having shot the who’s who of the industry for album covers, magazine pin-ups and posters for roughly 5 decades.

The California native was born in Santa Monica and had been shooting since the early 1970’s and his work includes everyone from Kiss to Van Halen, Alice Cooper to Ozzy Osbourne, Bon Jovi to Dokken, Yngwie Malmsteen to Lita Ford and hundreds of others.

There is no official word as to the cause of death yet, but the photographer had been going through blood transfusions in recent weeks for his on-going health challenges.

Glen La Ferman was 73.
