ON THE ROAD AGAIN — David Lee Roth the classic voice of Van Halen… is back!
Roth, 70, has just announced a string of 21 tour dates starting in late July through mid September.
The iconic showman extraordinaire recently appeared in concert at the annual M3 Music Festival after he officially retired back in 2021.
Roth aka Diamond Dave announced his retirement to the Las Vegas Review Journal, roughly 1 year after Eddie Van Halen succumbed to throat cancer on October 6th 2020.
Metal Sludge covered the singer’s retirement in our article ‘GOOD NIGHT … David Lee Roth has officially announced his retirement: “I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring”’ back on October 1st 2021.
But, like Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss and Mötley Crüe among others, it appears the retirement is over.
Roth in his official return to the live stage played a full set of Van Halen classics last Saturday night (May 3rd) at the Merriweather Post Pavilion and not a single solo career track was to be heard.
As usual, Roth showed up and showed out appearing in an all leather – all revealing outfit during his big comeback.
The flamboyant rocker let it all hang out and did not leave much to the imagination for the fans in attendance. (watch the full concert embedded below)
The classic voice of Van Halen brought an 8-piece band, which included guitarist Al Estrada, Ryan Wheeler (bass), Francis Valentino (drums), a keyboard player and a quartet of male back-up singers.
Roth appears to have sent a message to Van Halen fans everywhere, that if you want to hear the classic era hits from the mighty VH, then you’ll have to go see him in concert this summer.
