“We regret to inform you that Skid Row’s highly anticipated first in over a decade must be rescheduled due to Erik’s continued flu-like symptoms. His health and well-being are our utmost priority. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and appreciate your understanding.” Skid Row

Metal Sludge — The band Skid Row have hit a streak of bad luck in recent days.

The group have just pulled the plug on their 4 date mini-tour of Australia where they played just 1 of their planned shows due to a flu-like illness hitting their lead singer Erik Grönwall.

This has to be extremely frustrating for the band and promoters, as 2 of the Australian shows were Sold Out in advance.

Now earlier today, Skid Row have just announced that they are also postponing their up-coming shows in Japan for the same reason.

A statement posted on the band’s official social media reads as follows:

———————————————————–
“TO THE SKID ROW FAITHFUL IN JAPAN”

We regret to inform you that Skid Row’s highly anticipated first in over a decade must be rescheduled due to Erik’s continued flu-like symptoms. His health and well-being are our utmost priority. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Please know that we are already working swiftly to reschedule these dates as soon as possible. Our management and promoters are actively exploring options, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding the rescheduled dates.

To those who have purchased tickets, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding as all tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

We apologize for any inconvenience and cannot wait to make it up to you in the very near future.

Thanks for your understanding and continued loyalty.

You are truly the best!

Snake, Rachel, Scotti, Rob and Erik

Skid Row have been riding a wave of success with their most recent full-length album “The Gang’s All Here” which is their first recording with their new singer Grönwall.

Blabbermouth writes: SKID ROW has canceled the remaining dates on its Australian tour. The decision to scrap the rest of the shows comes just two days after the band canceled its concert in Brisbane, Australia because singer Erik Grönwall fell ill with the flu.”

Grönwall has been a breath of fresh air to the band and the fans with great reviews of both the new music and live performances since the Swedish born front-man joined the group just over a year ago.

Many readers will recall that Grönwall was thrust into the spotlight with almost no warning after the band exchanged audio files almost as an experiment, or audition of sorts.

Dave “Snake” Sabo and Rachel Bolan both talked about the process in interviews, and the band and producer were essentially blown away, and asked Grönwall to be in the band without a proper in-person audition.

In what can only be described as a story-book like whirl-wind of events, Skid Row introduced Grönwall as their singer seemingly out of nowhere back in March of 2022.

They flew him to Las Vegas, formally met for the first time, rehearsed 1 day and 72 hours later they opened for Scorpions on the first of several dates for the German band’s residency at the Zappo’s Theater at Planet Hollywood’s Casino and Resorts.

Metal Sludge wish Erik a full and fast recovery.
