Metal Sludge – Sebastian Bach has trolled his former band Skid Row again by bringing up something he alleges they said to him more than 25 years ago, when he was still in the band.
Bach took to his Instagram account and shared a photo with former Skid Row drummer Rob Affuso and captioned the post with: “Discussing our new project ‘Hard2WorkWith’ with my old friend @officialrobaffuso so great to see you dude…” (see full embed IG post below)
Bach is referring to something that was talked about in a 2021 interview with Phoenix area radio station KUPD when he said: “They (Skid Row) would say to me, if I didn’t like one of their songs, they’d say, ‘You’re hard to work with.’”
Metal Sucks detailed more about the interaction in December 2021: “Skid Row guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo said in 2019 of elementary reunion talks the band had been having with Bach, “It was already a miserable experience and we didn’t even get on the phone.” Bassist Rachel Bolan was ever so slightly more measured about it, saying, “We quickly learned after a few text conversations why we fired him in the first place.”
Former Skid Row manager Doc McGhee recently recounted an argument with Bach over publishing in which Bach, while failing to understand the very basics of publishing, blamed the manager for withholding publishing money he thought he was owed.”
Now in 2022 Bach still seems bothered by what his old band said to him in a rehearsal room more than a quarter of a century earlier and has used those words as ammunition in his latest IG post.
Bach has continued to be critical of Skid Row over the years, even though some die-hard fans and select in the industry have called for a reunion of the parties.
But every time there is a lull in the negativity towards Skid Row from the former singer, Bach throws some more gasoline on the fire, seemingly extinguishing whatever chance there may have been left for them to accept him back.
Skid Row are currently on tour with their new singer Erik Grönwall in support of their brand new release “The Gang’s All Here” which has taken the hard rock industry by storm, along with the charts.
With their recent success and a singer that has stepped up like no one has previously, it doesn’t seem likely that anytime soon the Skid Row guys would be willing to consider it, especially with the success of their latest release and the overwhelming positive reaction to their new front-man Grönwall.
