OSLO, Norway — Just when you thought rock n’ roll was teetering on the edge of its grave… someone comes along and kicks it in the head to wake it up.

Today’s head kick is courtesy of The Cruel Intentions.

The Cruel Intentions have just dropped their latest single/video for “Beating In My Chest” off their forth-coming full-length album and it’s a doozy.

The new record will be their third, to go along with their 2018 debut “No Sign Of Relief” and the follow-up “Venomous Anonymous” in 2022.

The newest from TCI, “Beating In My Chest” is according to the band, singer Lizzy DeVine‘s love letter to Los Angeles and the years he spent in California fronting his former band.

This track has everything that makes you want to step on the gas, or maybe even drink the gas!

DeVine‘s delivery is as raw as ever, and lyrics that paint the picture, that was the life of 4 young lads from Falkenberg Sweden with half the band finishing High School just weeks before that first flight to La La Land.

Lyrics like bullets as Jimmy (Lizzy‘s real name) spits: “Every night, like a final breath. Living loud, laughing close to death. Met my heroes on the Sunset Strip. Held a crowded Whisky in my grip. Hit the road in a beat up van. Hollywood’s where it all began.”

That beginning took DeVine and his former cohorts across the United Kingdom, North America and much of Western Europe within a few short years time, and now the same is happening for The Cruel Intentions.

If you don’t know who The Cruel Intentions are yet… it’s about time you take a listen… and if that razor drenched vocal delivery sounds a bit familiar, cue up the ole Swedish sleaze kings Vains Of Jenna and it might become clearer.

You may have also heard their music cranking on the HBO series Peacemaker where their songs “Jawbreaker” and “Borderline Crazy” were both featured.

The Cruel Intentions are lead by Devine (Vocals / Guitars) along with Mats Wernerson (Bass) Kristian Solhaug (Lead Guitar) and Robin Nilsson (Drums).

Look for The Cruel Intentions on tour in 2026 including an appearance at The Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg Tennessee where they’ll be performing twice, on both August 21st and 23rd 2026.
