Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. has epic Lip-Sync failure during Swedish show
Metal Sludge –This week’s winner for a Lip-Sync failure.. goes to Blackie Lawless of the band W.A.S.P..
In a YouTube clip from a recent live W.A.S.P. in Sweden, Lawless drops the ball a few times during the band’s 1 hour set.
Just past the 36 minute mark of the clip below, Lawless is several seconds late to the microphone.
The video is clear as a bell, as Lawless is roughly 1-3 feet away from the mic, for a few seconds as his lead vocal begins.
The vocal starts around 36:07, and Lawless is finally in front of the mic around 36:10.
There is another spot in the set at the 51:26 minute mark when guitarist Doug Blair is more than late to his mic.
Fans for years have questioned whether W.A.S.P. are playing to a track for much of their show.
On comments related to this YouTube thread, a reader named MikeI*** writes: “Lipsyncing fail 36:07”
Another named M***Holmgard adds: “And again at 51:26 Guitarist comes too late to mime the backing vocals…”
And yet another named Michael D******* writes: “Blackie lip synched all 4 tracks off The Crimson Idol that they played. Theres another person who shot the full show but with heaps of close ups of Blackie, If you look closely all 4 Crimson Idol tracks he lip synched. Really disappointing.”
