THEM’S FIGHTING WORDS
Donnie Vie takes a shot at Chip Z’Nuff’s recent Enuff Z’Nuff single/video
YouTube — Former Enuff Z’Nuff singer Donnie Vie has released a new song on youtube called “Rat On A Phone”.
The singer seems to be taking a shot at his former bandmate Chip Z’Nuff.
Z’Nuff is the sole original member of the Windy City song writing warriors known as Enuff Z’Nuff. He’s now holding down vocal duties as well as bass in the group.
Enuff Z’Nuff recently released “Clowns Lounge” which is their 14th studio album. The lead single/video is for a song called “Dog On A Bone”.
Vie appears to mock Z’Nuff with his new clip “Rat On A Phone”, which features a rat dressed up in the same glasses that the bassist/vocalist is wearing in his recent video.
The “Rat On A Phone” clip is also listed on youtube as a new unreleased Enuff Z’Nuff track. In addition it notes the video was directed by Rodent Pulaski and in the description it reads: Music video Chimpo steels my music.
The Vie songs turns into a mash-up of sorts using a direct hook from The Monkees song “Steppin’ Stone” and adds the lyric that sings: leave my songs alone.
The duo have had an ‘up n’ down’ career both together and apart but have not played together in the group they co-founded (1984) in recent years. Vie spent time away from the band between 2003-2007 and again since departing in 2013.
Z’Nuff recently spoke at length about “Clowns Lounge” on SMNews which we have posted below along with both “Dog On A Bone” and “Rat On A Phone”.
