“This show at the ‘Whisky-A-Go-Go’ will definitely be a full circle and defining moment in our career, opening up for the guy that inspired us to form our band and start playing music.”
Sean and John Kamenar

TAMPA, Florida — From the Sunshine State to the Sunset Strip is 2,574 miles by land, but if you fly… you can save yourself about 2 or 3 days of travel time.

KAMENAR are a Tampa Florida based rock n’ roll duo that features twin brothers Sean and John Kemenar who are about to make that trek from coast to coast.

As 2026 is about to kick-off KAMENAR will start the New Year out more than 2,500 miles from their home-base as they take their talents to the famed “Whisky-A-Go-Go” stage in Hollywood California on Saturday January 3rd 2026.

Sean Kaminar is the band’s frontman, guitarist / bassist, while John Kaminar is the band’s drummer.

The Kamenar twins are 24 years old but set out on their musical journey a full decade earlier as teens… the pair are known for their wall of sound and energetic live show.

KAMENAR just released a brand new video single for the song “Animal” which has already landed them at #28 on the Mainstream Active Rock Charts.

The brothers admit that their sound is heavily influenced by 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock, and that they mix a variety of genres, creating a fresh new modern rock sound with an old school vibe.

Now, it’s not often to see a live band with only 2 members on stage – who also happen to be twin brothers – but… it’s not completely unheard of.

Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s there was a duo on the Sunset Strip who called themselves Baron Von Rock, who also featured twin brothers Marky and Mikey… they like KAMENAR also featured one brother on drums, and the other as guitarist/frontman.

Now, 35+ years later, KAMENAR will hit Sunset Strip and share the stage with CLOSE ENEMIES, a band that features bassist Tom Hamilton of AEROSMITH.

The brothers have shared a really interesting piece of their history telling Metal Sludge: “We formed Kamenar back in 2015 after discovering Aerosmith through their Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida.”

And according to the band’s bio they have put in some work and to date have played with the who’s who of rock n’ roll including the late KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, Alice Cooper, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy, Poison‘s Bret Michaels, Hinder, Puddle Of Mudd, Saliva, Nita Strauss, Night Ranger, LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, Dokken, King’s X, Jackyl, Geoff Tate, and Stephen Pearcy of RATT among many others.

Now, they will start off the new year by adding Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith to their extensive list of touring pals and buddies.

Look for KAMENAR in 2026 as they will be hitting the road for other shows with CLOSE ENEMIES and POP EVIL as well.
