The Jack Russell ‘Celebration of Music and Life’ Concert has been Postponed

Metal Sludge — After several days of crazy weather and horribly tragic fires in Southern California, the Jack Russell Celebration of Music and Life‘ concert has been postponed.

The event was scheduled for Tuesday January 14th 2025 at the world-famous “Whisky-A-Go-Go” on Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, and according to sources, is already Sold Out.

However, due to the recent fire-storms that have hit the Los Angeles and Southern California area, the organizers have decided to put the event on hold for now and postpone to a later date.

As of press-time, there is no new date set.

The full press statement from Once Bitten has been shared below.

🚨 Important Announcement 🚨

Due to the devastating and tragic impact of the Southern California fires, we will be rescheduling the sold-out show originally planned for January 14th at the Whisky a Go Go—”A Celebration of the Music and Life of Jack Russell”—to a later date, which will be announced soon.

Our hearts are with all of our friends, family, artists, and associates affected by this unimaginable disaster.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled date. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. ❤️

Russell passed away back in August of 2024 after battling various health complications for years, including a recent diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Russell had been side-lined in the recent months leading up to his death from his own band Jack Russell’s Great White and last appeared in concert back in early April.

The Southern California native was born in Montebello and started playing back-yard parties and local clubs as a teenager starting in the 70’s.

In 1979, Russell was arrested for shooting a live-in maid in a botched robbery attempt, and sentenced to eight years in prison but only served 18 months before being paroled according to Wikipedia.

Russell eventually joined Dante Fox with guitarist Mark Kendall and the pair morphed their band into Great White in 1981 which the singer officially parted-ways with in late 2011.

Russell and his touring band were at the center of a National tragedy when their live show pyrotechnics set a Rhode Island nightclub on fire back in February of 2003.

The Station nightclub fire took the lives of 100 people including band-mate Ty Longley while injuring 230 more.

The former Great White singer had officially retired from touring on July 17th 2024.

Jack Russell was 63.
