MS NEWS / APRIL 2nd 2026 — What an amazing day it’s been here at the Metal Sludge West Coast Headquarters… and tonight it’s more of the same.
Earlier today we shared a post by rock drummer Scot Coogan who shared some of his feelings about his long-time friend and band-mate the late Ace Frehley who passed away last October.
Coogan started his social media message with: “Hello all—As Ace’s longest-running solo-band drummer and lead vocalist since 2006, I have remained intentionally silent.”
Coogan continued: “It was important to me to give my crew, management, and most importantly Ace’s family the time, space, and respect they deserve to grieve without added noise, speculation, or opportunism.
I believe it is far too soon to perform Ace’s music, and I have absolutely no interest in profiting from his name, likeness, or legacy.”
The Facebook post by Coogan which was shared on Wednesday April 1st at 4:02pm (pst) has almost 600 likes and roughly 100 comments and counting as of this posting.
The comments are a lot of really nice and complimentary kudos including; “You’re a class act Scot”, “You are genuine“, “Well said Scot” and a variation of the same throughout, and we here at Metal Sludge could not agree more.
Well it seems not everyone thinks the same about Scot Coogan… and that includes the various Rock Stars and Industry Notables who sent us private messages today essentially telling us; “Scot Coogan is full of shit!” and worse. Lol.
But hey, who are we to judge… oh wait… we’re Metal Sludge, so yeah… we like to judge and sludge.
Anyway… moving along…
Then our inbox received the following… “So glad Scot is NOT trying to make money off of Ace’s name!”
With that above inbox message was an attachment that was a link to eBay advertising a “kiss ace frehely coogan live drum kit” and of course we clicked it… and it’s all right there.
The account for the sale is listed as ‘Coogie52‘ and the listing is current and for sale at $5,000.00.

Well… let’s be fair here… and dare we say, that this doesn’t look that great Mr. Coogan now does it.
Especially when you released your 238 word statement (yes we counted them) telling the world how you are not looking to… well… do exactly what this eBay link is doing.
No hard feelings champ… but… those who live in glass houses should not throw stones… or if you do, make sure you have the local Glass Repair Company on speed dial bro.
