MS NEWS / April 22nd 2026Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx recently posted a tribute to his late friend Robbin ‘King’ Crosby of Ratt.

Sixx and Crosby were their group’s undeniable leaders and partners in crime as they came up on the Sunset Strip.

Sixx wrote on his social media on Monday April 20th 2026 and shared the following message: “I miss my friend.

We packed a lifetime into a short, explosive stretch—living fast, dreaming bigger, and always having each other’s backs no matter what.

He was beyond talented… the kind of talent you don’t see twice. But more than that, he had this wicked sense of honor—real, rare, and unshakable.

I miss you, Robbin Crosby.

I miss you, brother.”

Sixx has previously been open about his friendship with Crosby and has shared details over the years of their struggles both together and as individuals.

Sixx shared several images of the pair together acting like 20-somethings act during their coming of age years and conquering their dreams with both Mötley Crüe and Ratt.

History shows that the two were very close, even to a level that Sixx sent Crosby postcards while on tour and would even sign it, Love, Nikki. (below is a postcard Sixx sent Crosby in 1985)

Crosby was present during the night of 1987 in which Sixx suffered a heroin overdose.

Crosby passed away on June 6th 2002 after battling his addiction and related health challenges in his later years but lost his fight at the age of 42.

R.I.P. Robbin ‘King’ Crosby, you are greatly missed.
