Metal Sludge — As the rock world turns and evolves, so do the lineups that grace the stages of various rock bands out on tour.

The latest in the Ratt world is that former and long-time bassist Robbie Crane has joined the ranks of his former bosses solo group, Stephen Pearcy and The Rat Bastards.

We’re not sure if Crane is officially in the group or just filling in for some shows, but he made an appearance on Friday night in Las Vegas when the band performed at The Golden Nugget.

As most readers know, Crane has been playing bass in Warrant filling in for Jerry Dixon for the better part of 2 years now.

Crane is also part of the U.K. based Black Star Riders.

Pearcy himself jumped in on his tour manager’s (Jason Green) Facebook post about Crane jamming with The Rat Bastards adding: “A big FUCK YEH! ?☠️??? Back for More! #robbiecrane#rattnroll.”

Now in 2022, even though the global pandemic seemingly is behind us, some bands are still moving pieces around as needed for live shows and specific tour runs post Covid.

Earlier in the year a source close to the Pearcy camp had divulged to Metal Sludge that a few of the positions in the singer’s solo band just might not be set in stone and that changes could happen.

Then back in the spring Metal Sludge was first to report that the second guitar slot was going to be filled by Johnny Monaco for the group’s M3 Rock Festival appearance while Chris Hagar was rumored to be battling Covid.

That quickly transitioned to Monaco being a full-time member of The Rat Bastards as was reported by Chris Akin of The Classic Metal Show shortly after our article.

Now it appears that Crane has stepped into the mix replacing Jerry Montano (ex- Hell Yeah) but whether it’s for the weekend, or more… only time will tell.

Crane who was in Ratt from 1996-2012, was also part of Bobby Blotzer’s version of Ratt in the summer of 2016 going out for a slew of various dates but quit the project in August of that same year.

Crane wrote in a post on his facebook (August 10th 2016); “As of today, I have resigned my position as the bass player of Bobby Blotzer’s band “Ratt.”

We’ll keep an eye on this and update you as we learn more.
