BIG TALK
Billy Morris: “Jani was the songwriter. Long live Jani Lane. I think the guys in Warrant ought to mention that once in a while”
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Former Warrant guitarist Billy Morris recently spoke to Sleazeroxx in an in-depth interview.
Morris is a proud Cleveland native who has stayed in his hometown and become the guy in North Eastern Ohio when it comes to all things music.
From local bands, to touring internationally, to owning night clubs, recording studios and food trucks as well.
Morris recently released a new solo album “Holdin’ All The Aces” (High Vol Music) in the fall of 2018 and is supporting it playing regional shows.
In this recent interview the guitarist talks all things music, a new studio venture, the food truck business and of course his late great Ohio bestie and former bandmate Jani Lane.
Morris ended his interview with the following: “I will end this saying rest in peace to my friend Jani Lane. He made my rock n roll dreams true. Whenever I do a concert and sing one of the songs that he wrote, I always make mention that Jani is looking down on me. Jani was the songwriter. Long live Jani Lane. And I think the guys in Warrant ought to mention that once in a while because he wrote some damn good songs for those guys.”
Morris was a recording and touring member of Warrant from 2000-2004 with classic era members Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon and Lane.
During his tenure in the band the group did major tours with Poison, Ratt and Whitesnake among others.
Morris also performed with Quiet Riot for a period, the Paul Gilbert Band and Jani Lane solo.
