Chip Z’Nuff talks about Donnie Vie taking stolen horse through Burger King drive-thru on ‘Rock and/or Roll’ podcast
Rock And/Or Roll Podcast — On this episode Brian “BJ” Kramp has an in depth converation with Chip Z’Nuff about the early years of his great band Enuff Z’Nuff and how a power pop band came to be marketed as a hair metal band.
Chip also gives us the inside scoop on Enuff Z’Nuff’s near misses with reality TV and also the story behind his fellow Chicago band Life Sex & Death and the mysterious Stanley.
Chip also covers an amazing story about Donnie Vie and a stolen horse.
According to Z’Nuff, the former frontman and the band’s late Derek Frigo (guitarist) stole a horse from a local stable.
The band was recording up at Royal Recorders recording studio up in Lake Geneva Wisconsin when the pair decided to borrow a local farm animal.
Z’Nuff goes onto talk about how Vie took the horse into a Burger King drive-thru to get food.
Then Vie brought the horse back to the motel. Not just outside the building, but actually walked the horse into the room where the beast then released himself all over the floor.
Z’Nuff recounts their bad behavior got them thrown out of the studio. But later on it seems management thought this was the greatest story ever.
Soon enough the band landed their deal with Atco/Atlantic Records and the rest is history.
