Metal Sludge — David Lee Roth has released a new poster, that is promoting his Las Vegas residency shows in late December 2021 into January 2022.
Roth, 67, who announced his retirement on October 1st said in short: “I am throwing in the shoes… I am retiring.”
But the new poster has some questioning the slogan, that reads: “The Final Tour, Unless It Isn’t.”
Many fans have rushed to comment after Roth made his announcement that he was retiring from performing, with some offering ideas that it was a hoax, or he would return like Kiss or Ozzy Osbourne have after making similar announcements.
The vaunted showman rocked our world a week ago Friday morning.
Roth said in a phone conversation that was more a spoken-word performance than interview. “This is the first, and only, official announcement. … You’ve got the news. Share it with the world.”
With that, Diamond Dave announced he is ending the Van Halen era and his own stage career with his five shows at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Jan. 5 and Jan. 7-8.
He quickly added, “I’m not going to explain the statement. The explanation is in a safe. These are my last five shows.”
