“IT BREAKS MY HEART TO LET YOU KNOW THAT, BECAUSE OF DOCTOR’S ORDERS, I WILL NOT BE PERFORMING WITH THE BAND UNTIL I HAVE RECOVERED FROM AN UPCOMING ABDOMINAL SURGERY.”
— Cj Snare / FireHouse
Metal Sludge — FireHouse vocalist Cj Snare has just posted a message to fans today (September 26th) that he will be missing some of the band’s up coming dates.
The message states that the group will be postponing and rescheduling some of their up coming calendar but going forward with some of the dates, however, there will be a different front-man handling lead vocals.
FireHouse had to cancel a pair of shows back on September 1st and 2nd, and at their Rocktember appearance a week later (September 8th) the band did perform but with Travis Cormier (The Voice, Raiding The Rock Vault) fronting the band.
This is not the first time that Snare was held out from performing as back in early July 2021 Metal Sludge covered the story when Snare fell ill and at the last minute replacement singer Andrew Freeman (Last In Line) filled in for a few shows.
Snare took to his official Facebook on the morning of July 9th 2021 and wrote to followers: “So, I woke up this morning and was sick in my stomach. Headed to the doctor. Don’t need prayers, thoughts, or hugs. I just need people to understand that I won’t be in Moline or Ashland to do the FireHouse shows.”
It seems that Snare has been suffering from some type of abdominal health issue for a few years now, and has informed fans that he will be out once again, and not returning until recovered from a future surgery.
It is assumed that the September changes were due to something similar but there has been no word from the band or Snare regarding the recent cancellations or change at Rocktember.
Cormier is a former contestant from The Voice from 2016 where he was the runner-up.
In recent months, Cormier has been hired to appear in the Raiding The Rock Vault show in Las Vegas and seems to have made a positive impression thus far.
Cormier, who ironically turns 30 today, is Canadian and has released 2 solo albums to date in addition to appearing as a solo artist, he has performed with various groups in both his homeland and the U.S..
As of press-time, FireHouse have not officially announced who their “fill-in” singer will be for the next set of shows that Snare will be missing.
