Metal Sludge — There is news from the world of Trixter and it’s not good news for the band’s classic era drummer Mark ‘Gus’ Scott.

In a brand new interview on the Uvalde Radio Rocks podcast the band’s founder, lead guitarist and primary song-writer Steve Brown has unleashed some New Jersey fury towards Scott. (listen to the full interview below)

Brown was asked about the possibility of him and other members of the band’s classic lineup reuniting to play their first shows since 2017. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Pete‘s [Loran, TRIXTER singer] a brother. We talk all the time and everything’s cool there. I just think that Pete‘s — look, he’s always welcome. He can come out whenever he wants. He’s always welcome to come on stage and play with [me and TRIXTER bassist P.J. Farley]. And we’ve gotten offers over the past couple years, and we’ve presented it, ‘Hey, we want the band,’ and it just doesn’t work out. And there’s nothing I can say more about it, other than the fact that, with the drummer [Mark ‘Gus’ Scott], sadly that’s a problem that’ll never be repaired in my mind. So that you’re never gonna see the original TRIXTER back with the drummer again. But you might see Pete fronting us with a different drummer, which is fine, ’cause that guy was an adequate drummer at best anyway.”

The feud between Scott and some of the other members (Brown and Farley) of Trixter dates back several years.

Back in September of 2020, Philadelphia’s Bay Ragni asked Brown on his podcast what he could do to help the band reunite and Metal Sludge covered this story in our article FIGHTSTER … ‘Trixter’s Steve Brown and P.J. Farley say their drummer Gus is on the “Sh!t List” and compare him to a Disobedient Dog.’

Ragni had interviewed the Trixter founder and asked point blank what he can do, to help bring the love back between the strained members.

Brown shot back without hesitation: “Absolutely nothing! There is nothing you can do and just let’s, let’s end the conversation regarding him. Because there is nothing to talk about now, I’m not going to give you anything to talk about regarding that.”

Brown then added in his East Coast accent: “When you talk to him (Mark ‘Gus’ Scott), tell him I said go F#@k yourself! And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Brown ended with: “He’s a lying piece of sh!t. He’ll lie, and lie, and lie about what the problem is.”

Brown, 52, not only plays with Trixter, but has been the on-call back-up guitarist for the mighty Def Leppard for years.

Brown and the band’s classic era bassist P.J. Farley have also been doing select Trixter acoustic driven shows, that is more-like an up-beat storytellers performance says Brown.

A recent announcement have the pair headed to The U.K. in March of 2024 for several dates along with some other state-side appearances that are coming up this weekend Sept. 29th & 30th in Houston and Dallas Texas.

The duo are also part of the Eric Martin Band and have been touring for years with the Mr. Big frontman, and the set usually includes a pair of Trixter hits as well.
