Metal Sludge — Jack Russell of Jack Russell’s Great White says he has Covid.
Metal Sludge reported on Friday March 18th that Russell was ill and had to be taken to an area hospital upon arriving in Minnesota.
Russell was not admitted, however Metal Sludge have multiple sources confirming, that the singer was in-fact taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet Minnesota for evaluation.
Russell flew from Denver to Minneapolis, and then boarded a connecting flight to Duluth International Airport which landed at roughly 4:30PM (CST) on Thursday March 17th 2022.
Russell then arrived mask-less at the Black Bear Casino & Resort.
It was at this time, when it was apparent Russell was not in great shape say sources.
Russell looked so bad, that some staff members questioned whether he would be able to perform at all the following night, especially considering he could barely walk.
One of our sources, a local resident tells Metal Sludge: “Jack was all slumped over in a wheel-chair, he did not look good at all. Honestly, a few of us seriously thought he might be dying.”
A second source, who was working for one of the touring groups also informed Metal Sludge: “He (Jack Russell) was in a wheel chair and a complete mess upon arrival.”
The second source also noted Russell was not wearing a mask when he arrived at the Casino.
It was decided that Russell should go seek medical attention shortly after arriving in town.
Within a short time of his arrival in Cloquet, Russell was taken that night straight to the ER at the Community Memorial Hospital.
Russell returned to the casino some time later and was taken to his room where he requested food.
It is also alleged, that when the venue learned of Russell’s positive test late Friday morning the 18th, they went into action removing him from the show.
Jack Russell then addressed the Metal Sludge article later on Friday night, and made a video taped message from his motel room at the casino stating: “I’ve heard rumors that I’m really sick and that I’m in the hospital. The fact of the matter is, I tested positive for the Monicrom, Monicroom, or whatever it is… Monichrome… I don’t even know what the name of it is…”
Voice from off camera tells Jack: “Omicron.”
Russell jumps back in, “Omicron, variant of Covid and I couldn’t do the show tonight. Because it wouldn’t obviously be ethical of me, to expose anybody and I don’t want to get me all sick.”
“But I feel fine. Umm, I really don’t have any symptoms” says Russell.
During his video interview, Russell also says: “Just for all the scuttlebutt out there, I was reading all this information, or misinformation, fake news, how I was in the hospital, how I was sick, and dying, and all this other stuff… well, ahh… just so you know I feel fine. Thank you for being so concerned.”
To be clear to our readers, Metal Sludge never reported Jack was in the hospital, or dying.
But we did report that Jack was sick and he was taken to a hospital.
Jack even admits he is sick, and has Covid.
Russell also states, that because he tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid, that he chose to cancel his slot opening for the Bret Michaels Band that night.
Two of our sources dispute Russell canceled his show, and noted it was the casino who canceled Russell after he appeared to be in no shape to perform, along with him subsequently being tested for Covid which came out positive.
What’s not clear is why Russell seemingly boarded a plane and flew to Minnesota.
Jack has publicly admitted, that he was recently battling Covid, and it appears, he had not fully recovered from it and is rolling into public places mask-less to boot.
Or, did he test positive, get better, test negative and now a short time later, test positive again?
Hmm, something doesn’t make sense here.
And if he did ‘feel fine’ and had virtually ‘no symptoms’ (his claim), then what was the reason for the trip to the hospital, something Russell has not denied either.
It seems that somewhere between take off and landing, Russell (or his entourage, band or local staff) felt the need that he go get treated, and ultimately tested for Covid… which he did.
With that said, then when and where did Jack take the test for Covid?
We can only assume, that this test was done, in Minnesota and at a hospital, which is what Metal Sludge reported in our article and our sources are all alleging took place.
Obviously it was not before boarding the flight in Denver, as that would make no sense.
Especially, if his good intention was to be ‘ethical’ and not possibly spread his infection by canceling his show.
One would assume, the same ‘ethical‘ thinking would be used, to not travel or fly and spread his infection to others in the plane or at an airport.
So if in fact, Jack did test positive, it would have had to be upon arriving in Minnesota, something he has admitted to in his video.
And, if that is the case, why did Jack Russell go take a Covid test in the first place, remember, he said he feels fine and has no symptoms.
Simply put, why take a Covid test if he had no symptoms?
“Jack claiming he has Covid with no symptoms is BS. Why would he take a Covid test to start with if he has no symptoms, no reason to take a test unless something is/was wrong.” asks an online Gossip Board member Green Goblin Rulz.
Which is where our sources come in, all stating Russell was in bad shape, and looking very ill.
It was also noted him not being able to walk and needing a wheel-chair, and help getting in and out of vehicles.
Also a note of importance here, there are no restrictions, or requirements from the Black Bear Casino & Resort for their entertainers to test for Covid.
Metal Sludge have confirmed with other touring parties, from bands who also appeared on that same show, and none of these musicians, nor crew were required to test to play the show.
Russell’s video statement was shot more than 24 hours after first being taken to the ER, and while the singer seems in good spirits, he appears to be bloated.
The singer also confuses a few words and has trouble with enunciating some parts of his message including his attempt at saying the word Omicron.
He even said: “I don’t want to get me all sick”, which makes no sense.
We think Jack meant. “I don’t want to get anyone else sick”.
It’s no secret that Russell has had a history of health issues, much of it has been detailed, shared and even admitted to by the singer himself.
Russell was hospitalized back in October 2021 as reported by Metal Sludge, and canceled shows (the same day and last minute) at (2) “Canyon Club” venues in Southern California.
Let us not forget a history of drug and alcohol abuse as well, that we can only hope is all behind Russell going forward.
Putting all this in order here, something still doesn’t add up.
Jack claims he ‘feels fine‘ and ‘has virtually no symptoms’, yet boarded a flight, and a few hours later was positive for Covid which resulted in the same day cancellation of yet another show.
Russell has also publicly stated in recent weeks that he had contracted Covid previously, but it seemed, he had since recovered and one would assume was healthy enough to continue to perform in recent weeks.
We wish Jack Russell nothing but the best with his recovery from whatever it is that has him seeking medical attention be it privately or otherwise.
Lastly, we’d like to add, that being honest is the best medicine of all.
Get well Jack and please wear a mask, especially if you’re sick.
