Metal Sludge — More bad news in the way of rock n’ roll tours being postponed or canceled due to the Covid-19 virus.
Tesla have officially postponed their current tour dates due to members of their touring party contracting the virus. (see statement below)
“Attn: Fans TESLA to postpone their next few engagements due to members of the touring party contracting COVID. The band look forward to returning to the road soon. Please check the official website TeslaTheBand.com for updates. “
As reported by Blabbermouth on August 7th: “TESLA played the first two shows of its summer 2021 tour — August 5 in Grants Pass, Oregon and August 6 in Grand Ronde, Oregon — without guitarist Frank Hannon. Filling in for him was Howie Simon (JEFF SCOTT SOTO, GRAHAM BONNET, STRYPER), who previously stood in for Hannon in September 2018. No reason was given for Frank‘s absence from the tour.”
The band Limp Bizkit have also canceled their current dates for the entire month of August.
Word is that guitarist Wes Borland was feeling “really sick“.
Also reported by Blabbermouth: “LIMP BIZKIT has canceled the remaining dates of its August 2021 tour amid health and safety concerns. The trek was called off a day after the band scrapped its concert Friday (August 6) at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey about an hour before the show was scheduled to begin. No reason for the Stone Pony cancelation was given, but one fan who spoke to frontman Fred Durst outside the venue stated that guitarist Wes Borland — who is said to be fully vaccinated — apparently felt “really sick” after the band had already completed its soundcheck.”
LYNYRD SKYNYRD have also canceled four of its upcoming shows after guitarist Rickey Medlocke tested positive for COVID-19.
And last week former Skid Row front-man Sebastian Bach announced via his official Instagram that he even though fully vaccinated since March he has now tested Positive for Covid-19 after playing shows last week.
Tesla have posted their official statement on their Instagram.
Stay safe, get vaccinated and wear your mask people.
